Idol Chatter 3-18-08: Top Ten Revealed!

The FOX43 Idol Experts scramble for cover as Idol-Bunny Kellie Pickler headlines a semi-surprising Bottom Three. Did your favorite survive America's thumbs-down?

With a Bottom Three consisting of the expected (Kristy Lee, now in her thirty-seventh consecutive Bottom Three), the deserving (Amanda, who should have left .2 seconds after we all realized she's a one trick pony), and the surprising (Carly, who openly lied to America about never before doing "soft ballads")... the votes were counted and...

America put Amanda Overmyer back on her cliched bike and sent her home.

Keep on rockin' in the free world, Amanda! So much for the Rock 'n' Roll portion of this summer's Idol Tour.

FOX43 Idol Expert Artie put Michael Johns, Kristy Lee Cook and Ramiele Malubay in his personal Bottom Three. Math is tough, but that's only one for three. Artie?

Idol%20ArtieFunk.jpgFunk: Dude. I may have been 1 for 3 this week, but I'll gladly be off if this is the result! We got another unexpected gift from America: No more Biker-Nurse mumbling lyrics that hurt and confuse our ears. I didn't put her in the bottom because I thought she had enough fans to carry her through another round, but I certainly had little love for ol' Blonde Streak.

And now I'm afraid to ever say that KLC deserves to go home, because I'm scared I'll never be right about it! At this rate, she's gonna win it all! (I truly hope not, though)!

By the way... I really don't think Carly belonged down there with the likes of those chicks.

FOX43 Idol Expert Julie put Chikezie, Kristy Lee Cook, and Jason Castro in her personal Bottom Three. Why I do declare, but that's another one for three. Did America misdial, Julie?

Idol%JulieHeart.jpgHeart: Carly in the Bottom Three is not cool! But before I continue, I have to point out how I had forgotten how cute/annoying Kellie Pickler is. Sort of like this:

Thanks for reminding me, Idol!

Anyway, Amanda O. is going home and I'm happy to hear it. She was too predictable and stopped being an original by her second or third performance.

Kristy Lee, your days are numbered!

FOX43 Idol Expert Clyde put Amanda Overmyer, Kristy Lee Cook, and Michael Johns as of bottom of his barrel. Clyde wins the week with two out of three, but to be fair, who would have predicted Carly's tumble?

Idol%20Clive Collins.jpgCollins: Well, I was right last week... but I'm glad to be wrong this week, if it means not having to hear Overmyer quacking lyrics into her own armpit another week! Carly was a bit of a surprise, and I think Michael Johns or Syesha Mercado certainly deserved to make the Bottom Three instead. Still, no issues with the results. I've already pretty much decided on a Final Four, and all the others have to be picked off at SOME point.

Congrats to the Top Ten! You're going on the Idol Tour and that's a pretty nice prize in and of itself!

Next week should allow several favorites to bounce back, and I'm looking forward to weeding out the rubbish bit by bit.

Still, on being two for three this week... I mean, Amanda or Kristy? Either leaving is a relief, honestly. For the record, however, I'm glad it was Amanda. Good night and good luck, biker-nurse.
