SYTYCD Blog #14: Hollywood Top 12 - Julie is Back!

Yeah...uh-huh. Last week totally wasn't the most painful moment of my life or anything.
Yeah right, OK. You guys were reminising about the old days and seemed to really enjoy eachother's company...maybe even a little too much...there was a lot of chit chat...and not a lot of dance chat
I tried...Dance, and not Clyde, is my thing. Clyde is the one who decided to embarrass me, and make a fool out of himself. I'd much rather talk about dance. So how about we get to it?
Yes I do agree. This week we're down to six couples and the top few are neck and neck. I think there's still room to ween out a couple of less than impressive dancers, but we're getting down to the nitty gritty. Mia Michaels is joining the judging table, and we're joined by Artie Funk.
Hey hey hey! Artie's in the house with some lovely ladies! I'm ready to watch some DANCIN'!! Let's get to it!!!
Once again, all the couples will be dancing twice this week, and Chelsie and Mark are up first with the spicy Salsa!
Dancing twice makes for a quick and busy show
It shouldn't be as quick as last weeks show though.
Best of the night, easily! Of course it's the FIRST of the night, but, the dancing was great. Now, if only ALL of the dances tonight could be that good, I'd stay interested for a good long while.
Wow Chelsie looks hot, and Mark's not looking too bad either
I'm sure Artie is liking what he sees.
Yeah, ladies... I'm likin' what I see. Chica looks muy caliente! And this salsa is tight, sexy, and off the hook.
Well, what can I say? These two are fantastic. Definitely one of the best couples. And this dance was hot. I love my salsas.
Oh yeah Chelsie really had this routine down, and wow what a half a dress
They are a fan of those half dresses this season
They're obviously not Salsa dancers, but they did a great job fooling us
Next up we've got new couple Thayne and Comfort doing Hip Hop...these guys really need a great night to keep out of the bottom three
Comfort should be comfortable with hip hop...but lets see how Thayne handles it.
Well he's a lot better with her than Chris was doing Krumping...but I don't know if i see the chemistry between them
Thayne handled that well. But i do think Comfort and Thayne aren't meshing as well as I wished they would.
Yeah i was hoping they'd do better together
The dance was okay, but I'm with you girls on the lack of chemistry between these two. They did pretty well for this being their first routine together. But the more I think about it, the less I liked their performance. And I'm glad she mouthed the word "married" at the end of the dance...otherwise the narrative of the dance would have been confusing. Oh...and I found out that there was a narrative in that dance and the ending was dumb.
It is ashame because they are both brilliant dancers
Yeah, but i'm guessing this is going to be their last week
Unless another couple crashes and burns tonight.

I didn't think that was horrible enough to get them booted, but maybe I need to realize that this is the Top 6, so these kids really need to bring it.

Here's another couple that needs a good routine...but maybe another SHIRTLESS routine will be enough!
This kind of dance is not quite my cup of tea. Sure, I can appreciate the strength and control it takes to do these moves, and the passion the performers have, but I'm rarely ever "moved" by this kind of dance. That being said, I thought it was okay.
You can really see his strength will how easilly he picks her up and moves her in the air
I believe that this may have been Jessica's best performance. She seemed to be more comfortable with it.
Some smooth moves in there, but some of the interaction seems somewhat clunky. I'm getting that the dude has been totally better than the lady in this couple, but I didn't really see it that way just now... Interpret that however you want to.
Oh def Jessica's best routine, they really connected with eachother, but i thought this was the first time Will didn't outshine her like he has in the past
I knew Jessica had it in her. And I am glad she finally let us see it.
Courtney and Gev are up next doing the Cha-cha-cha, and we've got Pasha and Anya back to choreograph

As always (with the Cha-Cha-Cha), I enjoyed that. I think Courtney and Gev are great together.
Yo. Hot, fast-moving brunettes are totally my thang, and that makes this dance totally my thang.

That is what makes the Cha cha so great! It is hot! And Courtney and Gev make it hotter.
That was fun to watch, for a number of different reasons, but mostly because they can both move. That was at least as good as the salsa from earlier. Awesome.
I really really hope the audience keeps them out of the bottom three.
Me too! America don't fail us! Kherington and Twitch are hitting the stage next with the Krump!
Twitch was definitely the shining star of that one, but I think Kherington held her own.
yeah it was cool, but i was really hoping for a big move in this routine. Kherinton held her own till the middle/end and then she lost it a little bit, it looked like she was getting worn out, but at least she kept the cool serious face throughout though
Alright...I gotta disagree with you two, but first I gotta say that I have no idea what the heck that was all about. I've heard of Krumping, but I'd never seen it done before. Whatever it was, it was fun to watch.
Well it was fun to watch, that was obvious, but we've seen Krump's before and this wasn't really impressivel. Kherinton did that so much better than Chris ever did though.

I can't believe you were worried that Kherington wouldn't be able to pull this off? Seriously? Cuz I thought she stole the show and was oozing her gangsta all over the stage. Oh...and those leather pants were definitely nice. That was good stuff.
You're just gonna have to trust us that Twitchington have done much better than that Krump, and I hope you'll get a chance to see that with their second dance but now onto Katee and Joshua. They have what sounds like an interesting version of the Viennese Waltz.
That was beautiful. Jean-Marc Genereux comes up with the most beautiful numbers.
I really enjoyed that, i loved how it started with the ghost thing of her dancing with but without him, and all the lifts were great
Hmm. That was pretty cool. I liked that more than the contemporary dances we've seen. Pretty smooth and elegant, but fast at the same time, which kept my attention. As did her classy but very perty outfit...
The judges are being a lil tough on them...this could put them in danger
The judges are telling joshua that he was "Clumsy" and i can't really say I agree...but that is really because i was watching mostly Katee through that dance. She was amazing!
My rankings for the first half of the show, from best to worst, are as follows: Salsa, Cha-cha, Krump, Waltz, Contemporary, Hip-hop.
And with their NAMES Artie, I think that Chelsie and Mark, Courtney and Gev, and Katee and Joshua are the front runners right now. I know my beloved Kherington and Twitch are not my favorites tonight!
I pretty much agree with your top three couples, but i feel like Jessica and Will really made headway tonight with their first dance. I think they could knock one of the top couples out of their spot
Agreed, lets see what happens this time around. On to round two, Chelsie and Mark are back with a Tyce Diorio Broadway number.

Sure. That was a Broadway dance. Lotsa energy, way to stay in character and beat the living snot outta your partner. And the moves from both of them were pretty much on all the way through. Nice job.
Seriously, i love her, she's a little firecracker. Mark did a good job too....but you couldn't keep your eyes off her

I totally agree with Nigel saying that he'd rather see someone else dance this routine i loved the dance, it was amazing, but neither one of them seemed really into it or each other It was like watching a pair of dancing robots.No, Daphne...dancing robots would have been totally awesome and exciting to watch. This, however, was boring.Yeah, again dancing on sleeping pillsThey did the movements, but there just wasn't any emotion there.Clyde said that Comfort is nothing more than a prop, and he's totally right. I know you both hate hearing that, but it's true...especially this time.Actually I agree this time, Thayne did a good job, and i think Comfort held him back a little, but these guys are going home...Yeah, Bye bye Thayne and Comfort. Will and Jessica are doing the Quickstep next.Ooooh nooo the dreaded Quickstep....this could be badCan I say Barry Manilow is a much better music choice than Phil Collins for the Quickstep!Well it was a fun little routine, i'm not sure what mary will say on the technical stuff thoughThe Quickstep, eh? That was kinda fun...a little awkward on that look at each other and shake our heads move, but other than that, it was okay. The chick looks like she's dragging the guy down a bit, but both of them made this performance just okay.I got it Jules! Will reminds me of a HOT version of Cuba Gooding Jr!Lol I so see that! especially when he smiles! And it was so sweet that he stood up for Jessica when Mia bashed her a bit....but her days really are numberedAs for Dancing, I am sure he blows Cuba out of the water, as he does with Jessica. Courtney kicked Gev's butt there, didn't she?Neat routine. Lotsa fun, very energetic, tight moves, cool lift. I disapprove of the Indiana Jones theme, trying to cash in on the trend, but if that's all I can find to complain about, then I think they're doing fine.That was great, I think they're my fav couple of the night so far, they have such a great connection between themThey are a lot of fun! They are so cute together.Kherington and Twitch are back now with the Tango!That was fun to watch, but i feel like they could have done a better jobI totally agree. I liked that, but I think they could have poured it on a bit stronger, to be honest. I think Kherington did better in this round than Twitch. It seemed like the "fight" part was lacking.They were just a bit too stiff, i think Kherington had better emotion, and Twich was more precise with the stepsThe first part was very nice...I liked the first part. It was really good, don't get me wrong, but I think, especially coming from these two, it could have been knocked outta the park. Instead, it was just a triple. Decent dance.This could be the first time these two are in the bottom three...they are such a loveable couple though...i wonder if that will be enoughI am disappointed in these two tonight. But I do still love them, and I think they will be back next week whether they make it into the bottom three or not.Katee and Joshua are closing the night with the first Bollywood dance we've seen on the showThis sounds interesting.Yo! Bollywood? Awesome! I'm intrigued now. I dig me some Indian culture, so I hope this doesn't disappoint...I liked that! No no...I loved that.Oh that was so cool, i'm really impressed with them throwing in a dance from the Indian culture, and they really pulled it offYO!! THAT WAS BADA**!! If they had Bollywood dances every week, I would watch that show ALL THE TIME. They totally nailed those moves. It was fun to watch and it was hard not to get into it. So catchy and great. Awesome addition to the show, and these two kids totally got it right. Dogg.I love that style. I have always enjoyed dancing from India. But i was really impressed by that. And on top of the style, I think Katee and josua did fantastic with that!Joshua and Katee knocked that out of the park, they really had fun and i loved it
Alright, I think this round ends the same as the first. Katee and Joshua, Courtney and Gev, and Chelsie and Mark are the best of the bunch tonight. That leaves Kherington and Twitch, Will and Jessica and Thayne and Comfort in the bottom three.
Yeah Jessica and Will went back down, Kherington and Twitch stayed down, and Thayne and Comfort have to go home...they've been saved one too many times
Round Two was not as good as Round One, overall. But my rankings for Round Two are: Bollywood, Jazz, Tango, Quickstep, Broadway, Contemporary.
Once again Artie NAMES... that means Thayne and Comfort, just like all the other dancers in this competition are amazing dancers, but they just aren't doing their best anymore.
Well that's what this competition is all about, we're looking for the best most versitle dancers....and it's just not themGood times again, ladies... Sorry I'm not quite as interesting a guest-blogger as Clyde is, but I do have the fun when I stop by.
