Isle goes for baseball-themed promotions

Playing off the overall theme of "baseball," The Isle Casino and Racing has the following events on deck for April:

The events:

At 3 p.m. on Friday, April 3, Players Club members swipe their card to receive an entry to a drawing. From 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., winners will be selected every 15 minutes for $500 cash. A grand prize of $10,000 cash will be awarded at midnight.

On Saturday, April 4, drawings start at noon and go to 11 p.m. for $500 in cash every 15 minutes. The grand prize of $10,000 will be awarded at midnight.

The casino's "All Star Weekend" continues at noon Sunday with winners selected every 15 minutes and the grand prize of $20,000 awarded at 8 p.m.

From now until April 2, card members may swipe for five bonus entries daily.

The casino also is holding a "Baseball Diamond" free slot tournament:

Players score a "single" for 0-39,999 points and win $5 in IslePlay.

They score a "double" of 40,000 -69,999 and rewards $25 in IslePlay.

A "triple" is 70,000 – 99,999 points and nets $50 in IslePlay.

A "home run" of 100,000+ credits wins $100 in IslePlay.

Top score wins $1,000 IslePlay.

Every Monday in April is what the casino calls "Free Play Monday." They say to root for the home team (my guess here is it's Florida Marlins, but they couldn't use that in the promotion/standard procedure) and if any of the following occur, players win:

$5 IslePlay if the temperature at gametime is 85 degrees or higher;

$10 IslePlay if the home team shuts out an opponent;

$50 IslePlay if the home team hits for a cycle (single, double, triple, and home run for any one player);

$100 IslePlay if the home team pitcher throws a no-hitter.

On Friday, April 17, drawings will be held every hour for the $30,000 Home Run Sweepstakes. At 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., ten $500 IslePlay winners will be selected. At 8 p.m., a winner will receive suite tickets to a local professional baseball game (again, my guess is Marlins). At 9 p.m, win a trip for two to New York for a game, airfare and hotel. At 10 p.m., the grand prize winner receives $10,000 in cash.

On Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m., two $1,000 IslePlay winners will be selected. At 4 p.m., five $400 IslePlay winners; at 5 p.m. ten $100 winners; 6 p.m. a $5,000 winner and the grand prize winner wins a Buick LaCrosse at 7p.m.

On Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 pm. and Friday, May 1 at 8 p.m., the Isle holds the $20,000 Doubleheader Jackpot Sweepstakes. At each drawing, win a share of $10,000 cash. Entries from April 30 will stay in the drum for Friday, May 1.

Nick,
I have two questions for you. First, you posted the April promotions for the casino, but what are the poker promotions for April at the Isle? Second, what happened to the Battle of the Beaches results you promised a few blog entries back? I was curious to find out how deep in the tournament Vanessa Rousso made it.

Just a side note to the baseball theme - Statistically it is more difficult for a hitter to hit for the cycle than it is for a pitcher to throw a no-hitter (there are more no-hitters recorded in MLB history than there are cycles).

I didn't see them yet; I'll email Mike and if I get them, I'll put them up ASAP. (Note to others out there: Is there an interest in more poker tourney stuff? I kind of dropped off because I didn't think anyone wanted it.)

RE: The Isle tournament; I had it written up but am waiting on photos; but because I'm a reader-service guy, I went ahead and put up what I had; I'll update it later. Holler if you have other questions. (I missed going to the tournament; had friends in town and actually took a day off.)

Also, agree, re: cycle

Great article and very interesting blog. Thx for information. Good day for You.
