Mardi Gras offers double and triple jackpots

Mardi Gras Gaming Center and Racetrack is offering double and triple slot jackpots through Nov. 30.

If you hit a jackpot on the first floor they will double it; if you hit a jackpot on the third floor they will triple it. (I think part of the idea is to increase action on the third floor, which has a nice view of the dog racing but is a little bit of work getting to.)

The minimum jackpot they'll double is $1,200; the maximum is $5,000.

I was playing at the Mardi Gras when they decided to shut down the promotion. I am rather annoyed at this, as I had some favorite machines I played and fell behind (so they definitely made money on my action) -- I only won 1 special win -- that was indeed doubled :) With the promotion I was excited to keep trying and even called a few mahjongg friends in to try a few bucks.

But there were a few heavy players on the high dollar slots, and they were winning a lot, so the casino shut the whole promotion down after that, rather than keep the rest of us happy to come back. But now I probably won't return as the casino really upset us regular players. Gulfstream may get my business now.

I think they could have instead just excluded the high limit games, or possibly alter the promotion rules so a player could only win 1 or 2 doubled or tripled jackpot per day.
