The Seminole Casino Coconut Creek will celebrate its 10th year anniversary with entertainment and promotions, beginning with a concert Friday by 38 Special and Eddie Money.
The 10-day celebration continues with the sidewalk chalk artistry of Julian Beever; autograph sessions and competition of the former Miss Hawaiian Tropic, now Jett Girl Model Search; a roller derby bout between the Steel City Derby Girls from Pittsburgh and hometown Gold Coast Derby Grrls team; and the March 14 performance of “O What A Night – A Musical Tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons” by the Jersey Boys cast.

38 Special and Eddie Money will headline an outdoor concert on March 5 from 6 - 11 p.m.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the casino’s cashier’s cage and through www.brownpapertickets.com (1-800-838-3006) for $30 in advance, $35 day of the concert. A fire-fountain show will follow the concert and continue with nightly performances at 7:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. through March 14.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, Beever will unveil his latest creation. The public can view the work in progress starting Wednesday.. He’ll also be available for a public meet and greet at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
On Thursday, March 11, comedian David Brenner will perform at 8 p.m. in The Pavilion. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets available at the cashier’s cage. Cost is $20 and includes $10 in free casino play.
Formerly known as the Hawaiian Tropic Model Competition, Jetedone Swimsuits brings its Jett Girl Model Search to the casino on March 14 at noon. Public autograph sessions with the models will be held at 6 p.m. on March 13 and 2:30 p.m. on March 14, following the competition.
The casino will sponsor its second professional roller derby bout, this time between Gold Coast Derby Grrls (GCDG) and the Steel City Derby Girls, from Pittsburgh, also on March 13, at 8 in the parking lot. Tickets are $8 in advance at the casino’s cashier’s cage; $12 at the door; $15 for the 21-and-over “crash zone” (available at door only, sold by GCDG). Children must be accompanied by an adult. The bout is sanctioned by the Gold Coast Derby League.
A roller derby after party starts immediately after the bout in Nectar lounge. To stoke attendance, the casino gives away $30,000 in cash from 2-7 p.m.
Jersey Boys cast members Danny Zolli, Brandon Ellis, Michael Murphy, John Schutz, Brian Walters, Kevin Cohen, and Marc Schneider will perform “O What a Night, a Frankie Valli Tribute” in The Pavilion, Sunday, March 14 at 8 p.m. for $20. Doors open at 7 p.m. for general admittance.
Gamblers will get mixed drinks for 10 cents each evening while they play during the anniversary March 5-14. Guests will be treated to complimentary dessert pastries, candies, coffee, sushi, slice pizza, and more on various days during the anniversary celebration, with nightly birthday cake celebrations.
Throughout the 10 days in Nectar lounge there’ll be no cover charge for tribute bands covering the Beatles, the Eagles, the Rat Pack, Nat King Cole, the Andrew Sisters, James Brown, Van Halen, Journey, and Chicago. Rich Natole, an impersonator from Las Vegas, will be the master of ceremonies for the10-day anniversary festivities.
“Big Shot,” a special tribute to Billy Joel (http://www.bigshottributeband.com/) will be held in the casino’s pavilion tent at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10. The concert is free.
The casino is giving away 10 $1,000 prizes in free play, and at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. it's $10,000 cash.
"Ten-car Thursdays" starts with one 2010 Chevy Camaro this Thursday, two next Thursday, three the following Thursday and finally four on March 25. There are 10x entries on Tuesdays and 10x points on Fridays.
