Coral Springs man hits for $1.6 million in Mega Money
The Florida Lottery announced today that Mega Money winner Donald Muller, 65, of Coral Springs, claimed the $1.6 million jackpot drawn on June 18.
Muller chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option of $1,162,562.40. Muller said he plays the Lottery regularly and checks his tickets every week, but this is his first big win, according to a lottery press release.
“I checked the newspaper for all the winning numbers but I did not have the Saturday newspaper. I quickly headed to Publix to check my numbers and was shocked to find out that I had the winning ticket,” he told officials.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at the Publix, located at 2201 N. University Drive in Coral Springs. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $1,000.
