I was watching the season premiere of 90210 when I heard the name "Rebecca Bloomwood," during a commercial break. I thought, "I know that name." I turned my head to look at the screen and saw a commercial for a new movie... could it be? I almost fell out of my seat when I saw the movie title, "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Finally my favorite books of all time, following the adventures of Rebecca Bloomwood, the maxed out credit card financial journalist from the UK, are coming to the big screen in the first ever Confessions of a Shopaholic movie. Don't wait to see the movie (scheduled to be released early 2009) read the first book now. There are five in the series. They're all real page turners and by far the most entertaining books I've ever read!
One last note for you Shopaholic fans... funny girl Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) will play Rebecca Bloomwood. Is it February yet?

When style and beauty expert Jenn Falik headed south this summer to hot Houston she gave me a buzz, ready to share the latest and greatest products that she had tested herself. She has this one product called lip venom, made by DuWop. Guess what this lip plumper is made from... snake venom. It tingles when it goes on, but if Jenn's wearing it, I'll try it. She's a true New York City girl with Texas charm. I think she's from here, but it's been a while since she called Houston home. Jenn knows her fashion and beauty, and best of all bargains. As students prepare to head back to school, Macy’s and Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation’s oldest and largest children and family literacy nonprofit organization, are joining forces for another year to launch Macy’s 2008 ”Book A Brighter Future” campaign. The program is designed to promote and support early childhood literacy programs and resources, including books for underserved children throughout the nation.
For $3, which Macy’s will donate to RIF, customers will get a $10 off shopping pass to be used toward their next eligible Macy’s purchase of $50 or more. The RIF shopping passes are available in-store from July 23, 2008 and are effective through September 1, 2008. They will be redeemable in most Macy’s departments. (Exclusions apply. One dollar of each $3 donated will go to support a local RIF program; $1 will benefit RIF’s Multicultural Literacy Campaign; and $1 will support reading resources for children nationwide.

For four years there's been a void in my life.

In 2004, my ficitional friends Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte signed off on HBO's hit series "Sex and the City," leaving myself and so many others to wander if they lived happily ever after. It was my favorite show. I watch reruns late nights on CW 39 and I can't tell you how excited I was to hear there was going to be a movie.

I finally saw it last night. It was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! There were so many surprises and so much SEX! Warning: Don't take the little ones. This is a girl's night out movie. Take your best gal pals and watch. You will laugh and cry. Keep a tissue handy and try not to get Carrie-d away.

It's officially one of my all time favorites. Sex and the City fans will not be disappointed, with the film or the fashion.

You can check it out at Jones Hall, Thursday, April 10th when Society for the Performing Arts presents Dance Brazil. You should see these guys. Yours truly and Randi, Beauty and The Geek contestant


26 year-old Randi is from Houston. She went to Jack Yates High School. She recently visited our studio to help with promotions for the CW show "Beauty and The Geek." She's one of the beauties. My first thought... "this girl is pretty bright." She's very street smart. If you watch the show, like I do, you're probably thinking, "why did they cast her?" Usually, the girls are all beauty, no brains. I wonder is this some new twist to the up and coming season? I guess we'll all have to tune in and see. She couldn't tell me much, except she brings lots of excitement to the show. Beauty and The Geek premieres Tuesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. on CW 39.
