Is "Black Dynamite" going to be a sleeper hit?
I can't remember the last time a movie trailer made me laugh. This one did. Twice.
"Black Dynamite" is a blaxploitation take-off set to premiere in a few weeks at Sundance Film Festival. It stars Michael Jai White and has appearances by Arsenio Hall and Tommy Davidson.
Here's the plot description going around:
"When ‘The Man’ murders his brother, pumps heroin into local orphanages, and floods the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor, 1970s African-American action legend Black Dynamite is the one hero willing to take him on."
I can envision that nine months from now we'll have a bunch of college students running around repeating lines from "Black Dynamite."
