I guess you're not allowed to be a Christian and win the Miss USA. I hope she sues since the only reason she lost was due to Hilton's anti-Christian bigotry.

Good for her. I'm glad to see other people supporting her too. More folks need to stand up for good morals and stop being oppressed by the liberal, politically correct machine.

Uhhh...it is called the Ms. USA pageant not the Miss Divisive USA pageant. She is supposed to represent all. Also, she didn't lose the crown Ms. NC won it. She had the highest scores of swimsuit and gown. Obviously Ms. CA didn't watch the tape yet. Smart girl huh?

My local newspaper's (Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel) on-line edition featured this story/video with the headline "Miss USA Flub?" Posing the question that this could be a "flub" tells us more about the liberal-leaning media's obsession with political correctness than it does about what this woman said.

You can be a christian in the US but you certainly shouldn't be ignorant and discriminative if you are to represent the US in this pageant. And, oh yeah, is there anything dumber than a stupid pageant.

Is she a Christian? How can you tell? I mean, you don't have to be a Christian to be 'pro-morals'. In American it seems that either you're letting people do basically whatever they want (short of breaking a law), or you're a Christian.

Strange...

Good for her. She put God before Glory and comes out the real winner in God's Book. My question is , who screened that judge for his job that he should be judging someone with real morels? Some people make comments accusing liberals of not having high morels. I want to say that I am liberal on most issues except gay rights and abortion. I weighed the issues before voting and the liberal side had the most positive for me. Thank you.

I applaud Miss California for hear answer on gay marriages. We need more people like her to stand up for what's right and not give an answer that they know some people want to hear just so they can win, but give the answer they believe in their heart.

Supposed to represent Everyone? How about she represents America and Most Americans do NOT agree with same-sex marriage. Perez needs to get over himself.

Perez Hilton should be ashamed of asking such a question in such an inappropriate forum. I am very proud of her for not bowing to what the media trys to shove down our throats every day. She may have lost that stupid contest but gained a whole lot more.

Regardless of whether I agree or not with her position on same-sex marriage, I give her serious props for giving a truthful answer. She started to weasel a bit at the beginning and then just let it all hang out at the end.

Her candidness is pretty refreshing for one of these banal "beauty pageants" in which everyone drops milquetoast answers as to how they're trying to save the world or buy people maps so they can find, "such as," "South America" and "the Iraq" and "the Asian countries." "Such as."

What a sad state of affairs that this pathetic issue of same sex marriages has crept so far into every facet of American society that it can even cause a Christian woman to lose a pageant. As far as I am concerned, the answer that she gave is exactly the reason why she SHOULD have won.

It seems a person is not allowed to say anything against same sex marriage. This supposed to be a free speech country. Where do these people get the idea, they have a right to control what someone says. It was a bad question. Maybe even a setup.

The "content" of Miss California's answer to the question was the least of her problems. The WAY she answered just made her appear inarticulate and borderline illiterate. She didn't form a grammatically correct sentence in her answer, her vocabulary was obviously incorrect, and the syntax in her answer was not only incorrect, it was appalling! How this woman got to the final two is beyond me. Since one of the main duties of Miss USA and Miss Universe is to be able to speak spontaneously in front of people, you don't want someone who sounds like an uneducated empty head doing that duty.

And I'm sorry, but as far as looks, both of those final two look like every blonde p*rn star since the 80s. And far too skinny.

I believe in same sex marriages as do I to “opposite marriages” and yes, no matter how much I do not agree with her comments she is still entitled to her own views and opinions. Accepting different views on different topics is a problem in this country. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. It’s called the First Amendment. Everyone needs to start respecting each other. No one gains respect. You earn it. In addition, it seems that she mistook the question. He was not asking her what her views were on same-sex marriages but whether or not other states should follow suit in Vermont’s legalization of same-sex marriage. Moreover- just because you choose a different lifestyle does not mean you cannot be a Christian. People always talk about how love is blind… until they find that person is a different color or the same sex then it is not ok anymore. If you do not believe in the lifestyle that is, fine but do not try to impose your beliefs onto other people. If it were reverse, how would you like it?

More proof that Christians are bigots. The only road to a tolerant society is encouraging young people to question religion.

So sad, a pagent that has a divisive (immoral) little troll for a judge...

Perez Hilton - a legend in his own mind...

Just another hell bound "divisive" fool...

It is amazing the people who say they advocate free speech and civil rights, really only care about their own agenda, and people who disagree are haters.
We have a right to have a standard and just because you do not have that same standard does not make us wrong.

Deer Miss Perez Hilton,

You are a true "idiot"!
It is people like you that ruin it for the "great majority".
People like you should seen but not heard!!

I think the comment that this is more proof that Christians are bigots is ludicrious. Tolerance is not saying, I accept your way of life and set aside my own beliefs. I feel gays are much more bigotted and intolerant than any Christian I know. Gays tout that you are not allowed to have any opinion other than theirs, perfect examples are the statements by Mr. Hilton. I may not support the gay lifestyle, but I have never called any of them the "b" word (as Perez Hilton did) because they didn't give the answer I wanted, in fact I've never called anyone that. I found Mr. Hilton's interview on the Today show highly offensive and I applaude Miss California for her poise and class in her responses. The constitution protects free speech and religion for "all" not just gays or whoever wants to put forth their agenda. Perhaps Mr. Hilton could learn a few things from Miss California, his rhetoric came across as nothing less than hate speech and Christian bashing.

It's an opinion. She didn't say anything wrong. Whether you are pro or con, you should recognize that there will always be people on the other side of the fence and that they are not "wrong".

Michelle,
Are you for real? B/C she doesn't share your same belief she and all Christians are bigots. That's and incredibly immature and unintelligent position. For the record, I'm pro gay marriage and agnostic, but would never support insane viewpoints like yours that resort to name calling and division. Have an open mind, just like you're asking of others.

The question was a no-win for her and shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. Hilton is a self-promoting 'flamer' who in my opinion, does more damage to his cause than good.

The topic is very divisive and loaded - so much, that seasoned politicians run from it. It was not an appopriate place for such a divisive question.

I didn't watch the show, but did the other contestants get - "What are your goals after college?" Wold you like to see world peace?"

PS - the majority of Americans agree with Ms Cali.

The most stupid question ever ask from the most moron blogger. What blogger doing here anyway? This contest is really downgrade to the trash. I support here, gay is illegal.

if you don't want to hear the answer, don't ask the question. the lady gave an answer and the why to her answer. i think i saw a clip where this hilton referred to her as a b---h and then apologized? i think not. i would say he/she/it is the b---h! miss california is not the confused one here.

I could not agree with this women more and admire her speaking her mind.

I thought judges were supposed to be indiscriminate. Obviously Mr. Hilton came to the table with a deliberate agenda. His question not have been allowed.

WHY DO ALL YOU HOLY ROLLERS KEEP MENTIONING GOD AND CHRISTIANINTY? NOT ONCE DOES SHE OR ANYONE ELSE MENTION RELIGION, ESPECIALLY NOT CHRISTIANITY. GOD WAS NOWHERE IN HER RESPSONSE. Im glad she answered truthfully. She is right about America, gays have the right to be gay and we have the right to disagree. If you want to criticize her for her beliefs then gays shouldnt complain about anti gay remarks. ITS A TWO WAY STREET ALL YOU HOMOS AND GOD FREAKS!

When does she ever mention GOD? She doesnt. Only the holy rollers in here are.

And too bad if the gays dont like her answer, like she said its a free America, we have an individual right to choose. Gays have the right to be gay, and people have the right to think homos are sick

A bird can love a fish and visa versa, but where could they make a home?

I applaud Perez for having the courage to take a strong moral stand with concerns to gender discrimination.Good job Perez. We don't want half naked streaking women giving horny men a hard on and causing them to commit fornication in their minds taking us back to the dreary dark ages.

I support Mrs. California's comments 100%

Since when does standing by your beliefs justify a judge calling her a c*nt and B*tch on youtube and on national television?

If this is what LGBT represents guess what? You just made a huge swath of prev. neutral enemies.

I aplaude Mis California for being sincere. It was her rigth and should not be retaliated for saying what she believs on! it was an unaprorpiated question for the event. I am not against gay "mariage" even though i find it silly to be fighting for the wrong things. Gay people should be fighting for the right to have a legal contract with a partner that they choose so to guaranty their security and humain rights, but "mariage" is somehing spiritual and you dont need the approval of the state for that!! you actually can go to a chruch or to the ocean and mary whoever you want! Mariage is not the business, legal side of an union! that should be called "contract between two beings who wants to share partnership", same like when you open a business with someone, it is the same thing! if you dont believe me , then look at what happens when they get divorced!! Marriage is something different! now going back to Miss California.. so Perez, the same way you said that she did not represent the mis pageant whatever, i feel you miss represented the gay community with your unilateral vision! it is people like you who makes step backs and not forward with such a reatiliatory action that you did. You took her the crown to give to someone who says she "was happy that she will be famous now!" wow, what a goal to be a miss of USA!! for your information Mister Hilton, to be a miss of a country it is far more political thant hollywood oriented. You got what you asked for. you should not have placed YOURSELF and your community in that position, i think that you lost more than she did! you must be inpartial when it coms to rights! it was her rigth to say what she thoguht , the same right that you are caliming to want you have dinied her! so you lost your point one more time!

Perez Hilton gives himself too much credit......and I can tell you more people agree with the way she feels than the way he feels. He is in a small group of people that like to make a lot of noise, she at least is a smart person that speaks her mind, you must admire her for that. He can call her a loser but he is, always has been, and always will be a loser!!! How does someone as bitter as he is even keep a job, or is that what you call what he does?? He makes a living out of being mean to other people...that should make him so very proud!!!She is a winner in most peoples eyes!! Good for her for being honest.

I disagree completely with her stance, but embrace her right to present it. There seems to be a tremendous hypocrisy and irony in calls for her head: isn't the gay community constantly bemoaning their right to express their love and views? If you don't want a tough answer, don't ask a tough question.

Miss California's got cahones for answering the question honestly... too bad Perez Hilton is a hypocrite

Good on her for not turning her back on her beliefs! She chose to put God and her morals first before all this Politically Correct nonsence. What happened to free speech??? She is now being urged to apologise to the gay community! Why? She is entitled to an opinion of her own. The majority of Americans would agree with her and so do I. I have no idea why Perez even has a spot on that judging panel.
