Balloon boy vomits on "The Today Show"
"The Today Show" had a very complete report this morning on the Heene family and the balloon drama that captivated people across the country yesterday.
So was it a hoax? And what about the dad taking the kid on live television this morning when he obviously wasn't feeling well? Should the family have to reimburse authorities for the chase?
Wow, this story gets stranger and stranger.

Too bad the kid got sick on air... but this looks like nothing more than a stunt to get attention. Unfortunately the media was sucked in.

He probably got sick because they aren't taking time to feed the kid or rest before rushing to the next interview.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dad planned this whole publicity stunt. I remember seeing this family on Wife Swap, and the dad apparently believes in aliens and thinks he was an alien in his past life, not to mention the fact that the father has the emotional maturity of a 7 year old

Who the heck does this guy think he is fooling?? When he finally confesses, I hope he gets charged for the aviation fuel and manhours. He's not upset because he has been accused of creating a hoax...he's just sorry that he got caught!

This WREAKS of publicity stunt, in my opinion!! Why would the kid say that on Larry King when his dad asked him why he didn't come when they were calling him & the kid says "You said we were doing it for a show." I don't buy the Dad's defense of that comment. And what about the way the dad acts like he's crying on the Today Show interview, but no tears are shed. Isn't that what you hear when experts interview people and determine that someone might be lying?? Mr Heene obviously got the attention he was hoping for... look at all of us who are still listening!! I sure hope they have to pay for the fals rescue efforts, and THEN some!!!

Initially I thought this was a tragedy about to happen. But then I remembered seeing him on "Wife Swap" and he appeared to be a very strange individual. It wouldn't suprise me if this was a hoax and after watching Wolf interview him and his family on Larry King Live, I am convinced that this was a publicity stunt. How sad...

I was working out in a gym when I saw this happening on CNN. Like most people, my first reaction is concern for the safety of the little kid, but very quickly I realized that something fishy might be at work for the following facts (before I learnt later that this family was already on tv shows): 1 How likely is it that the kid climbed into the ballon unnoticed and at the same time the ballon was accidentally released? For such a large ballon to be anchored to the house, it must have more than a few tie downs. It is not like a car with a key in the ignition, and any fool can drive it off. 2. Who would want to build a ballon like a flying saucer if not for hoax? If you combine 1 and 2, plus past history of publicity in tv shows, plus boys slip of tonge of "part of a show", it becomes too obvious.
This family should pay for the full cost of the rescue effort plus whatever legal or criminal penalties as necessary.

kid could be sick..but I knew a kid who could barf on command for attention (jes sayin' furthermore? the so called mother and father seem 10 short of a dozen, this father NEVER built that balloon he doesn't sound capable of a successful game of jenga IMHO. AND WHERE WERE THE MATERIALS (the mylar) procured? sounds like there was an experienced crew in this sham at some point I want them arrested and fined for wasting emergency personnel. how much money have they received so far from this? it all needs to seized till they are proven innocent, again MHO.

ummmm, our system doesnt work like that. sure it was a hoax, but its innocent until proven guilty, not vice versa. guilty until proven innocent means the defendant has to prove his innocence, which is not right
