I want some TARP

We at WTN got a tweet the other day on Twitter (follow us @watchthisnow) from Bill Zucker, who did a parody song about TARP, the acronym for the gazillion-dollar federal bailout. Perhaps you've heard of it.

Bill's video already been featured on MSNBC and Fox News and CNBC, but not yet posted on our highly influential South Florida viral video blog. So we're posting it now, in hopes that if Bill gets any TARP money, he'll share it with us.

If you all have videos you think would be worth posting online, let us know. Send a tweet, send an e-mail, post the link in our comments section -- we'd love to hear from you.

The face of Jesus found in unlikely places

One of my favorite viral video sites -- everythingisterrible.com -- has put together this incredible compilation of local news reports of people seeing images of Jesus and the Virgin Mary in everything from a spoon to a shirt.

The Twitter Song: Sing this song while on Twitter

From our friends at SouthFlorida.com, comes "The Twitter Song" by Sharp Dressed John. Not gonna lie, it's a catchy tune. Of course, I heard about this song on Twitter.

Remember her? Amanda from MTV's 'The Paper'

Remember Amanda Lorber? She was one of the breakout stars of MTV's high school docudrama, The Paper, filmed at Cypress Bay High School in Weston.

Check out her singing "Hallelujah" from her dorm room at NYU.

Although "Hallelujah" was pretty good, I enjoy her lip-synching of "Mr. Roboto" better.

Local residents celebrate Obama victory

Check out the Broward Politics blog and watch this video shot by our colleague Brittany Wallman, as she drove home from a Fort Lauderdale city commission meeting last night.

Put down the Botox needle and read this

South Florida's Gary Sikorski wants your face to be happy with his Happy Face Yoga program. The Sun Sentinel actually did a story on Sikorski and his facial exercises. Check out his demo video and your face will turn happy at the 33 second mark.

Live, from Weston: Tropical Storm Fay

More local video of Tropical Storm Fay on YouTube.

You know, he probably shouldn't have filled his pool yesterday...

Tropical Storm Fay on YouTube

As I'm writing this, the storm is still churning off the Florida coast, but already there are 145 Fay-related clips on YouTube.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen any videos of surfers taking advantage of the bigger waves. But there are quite a few clips like this:

Saying goodbye, online

Used to be, if one of your colleagues was leaving for another job, there would be cake at the office and -- depending on the person -- possibly a celebration at a local bar.

But apparently I am behind on the times. Now it seems bringing a video camera and taking the party to YouTube is to be all the rage. A quick search for "farewell party" on YouTube brought up more than 3,000 entries.

One of the newest entries comes from my co-worker Scott, who today posted a tribute on YouTube to dearly departed colleague Ivette Yee. I typically try to avoid posting Sun-Sentinel colleagues' videos online, but this was too good to resist:

Do you know where the boys are?

Sun-Sentinel Travel Editor Tom Swick hit Fort Lauderdale beach to see if Spring Breakers knew "Where the Boys Are."

Check out his Jay Leno-style quiz on the 1960 book.

A 'Girl Happy' Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley sang "Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce" in the 1965 movie Girl Happy. I've never seen the movie, but judging from the clip below and this movie trailer, I'll definitely be checking it out.

What's your favorite Elvis movie?

Whale sharks in Florida

A Sun-Sentinel reader e-mailed this to our editors, and it landed in my inbox Thursday. I don’t know much about whale sharks, but I figured it would be cool to post some homegrown video on the blog.
