Taylor Swift on SNL: Twilight parody

From last week's Saturday Night Live:

Taylor Swift stars in Firelight: A parody of Twilight crossed with Frankenstein's monster.

For added fun, count how many times Swift cartoonishly bites her lower lip. I counted eight times, but I probably missed one or two.

A high point from a fairly solid SNL episode:

SNL video: What Up With That?

I didn't laugh much at this weekend's Gerard Butler-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, except for this one Kenan Thompson talk show sketch.

My husband reminds me that they did something similar last season, but no matter. Watching Jason Sudeikis dancing in the background wearing a track suit, or Will Forte doing the robot, is just random enough to keep me entertained.

SNL Weekend Update: James Carville on Obama's Nobel Peace Prize

I don't care what your politics are, Bill Hader's impression of Democratic strategist James Carville is spot-on. It cracks me up every time.

New SNL actress drops F-bomb during skit

Let's bid a fond welcome and a fond farewell to the new and possibly-soon-to-be former SNL cast member Jenny Slate who gets a little too caught up in this skit.

Her reaction after realizing what she just said is pretty hilarious.

Will Ferrell and SNL's cast performs Billy Joel's "Goodnight Saigon"

This was my favorite sketch from the season finale of Saturday Night Live. It was bizarre, filled with random cameos, yet oddly touching.

For those of you who aren't Billy Joel fans, Will Ferrell's interpretation of "Goodnight Saigon" is pretty true to the original. I cracked up, though my husband (not a Billy Joel fan) didn't get it at first.

This was a great way to cap a pretty inconsistent season, though my favorite bit of the year remains the Pepper Sketch. More Bobby Moynihan!

SNL's "Jeopardy!" sketch

The season finale of Saturday Night Live was filled with special-guest appearances -- Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Anne Hathaway, Maya Rudolph. But I think my favorite was Norm MacDonald as Burt Reynolds in the Jeopardy! sketch.

Warning: This sketch contains a lot of mom jokes.

SNL sketch: High School Musical 4

Zac Efron as Troy Bolton is back and he's giving a reality check to the next class of High School Musical graduates. (If you sing in bed, people will hear you!)

Cathy vs. Jessica Rabbit on SNL's "Weekend Update"

Just make Justin Timberlake a regular cast member already. These days he's in more sketches than half the actual "Saturday Night Live" cast.

MacGruber and MacGyver on SNL

The MacGruber skits go a bit longer than usual in order to give MacGruber some back story and abandonment issues. Richard Dean Anderson is great in his cameo role.

SNL's "Really?!?" Michael Phelps

Seth Meyers proves that he doesn't need Amy Poehler to pull off a good "Really?!?" segment on Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update." This time, he takes aim at Michael Phelps and his recent pot-smoking bust, while also taking a dig at the person who shot the photo that started it all.

Aladdin revisited on SNL

Things aren't going so great for the classic Disney animated characters. Here's Rosario Dawson as Princess (or is maybe Queen by now?) Jasmine and Jason Sudeikis as Aladdin.

SNL digital short - Orchestral Doogie Howser theme song

Watch this video while you can, before NBC yanks it down. Neil Patrick Harris' appearance over the weekend on Saturday Night Live had this odd gem with him and a bunch of others dressed as Doogie Howser playing the theme song to Doogie Howser M.D. Prepare to have the song stuck in your head all day.

Fred Armisen as David Paterson on SNL

Here's the video that's burning up the search engines this week. New York Gov. David Paterson, who is legally blind, has responded that he did not appreciate getting lampooned on Saturday Night Live. But really, what politician does? Certainly not Sarah Palin, right?
