And Benton surprises Carter...
And the review...
Ten years gone almost to the month, the most famous cast member in one of TV's most famous shows returned last night for a brief, fond and generous farewell. Nor was George Clooney alone: Julianna Margulies...Noah Wyle...Eriq La Salle. (Also, "Boston Legal's" Christian Clemenson and Susan Sarandon, in guest roles, as if the foregoing wasn't enough.)
For true blue "ER" fans, the cup raneth over.
How was Doug Ross? Well, he didn't get uglier: Slightly gray, still chiseled, with those sharp penetrating eyes. If the surgeon business didn't work, he could've gone into acting, perhaps. That voice? Still buttah. "I love you," were his final words, and a few million eyes watered.
The plot was classic "ER" - tragic and hopeful - while binding some of those dangling plot threads, as in - whatever did happen to Ross (fired for taking part in an assisting suicide) and Hathaway (who had Ross's twin daughters.) Sarandon's character brought in her grandson, Billy, who was brain-dead; Hathaway and Ross explained the process of organ donation. The moment was wrenching.
We also now know that they ended up together, presumably married and fulfilled) and raising their daughters. They work at the fictitious "Northwestern Medical Center" in the real city of Seattle. Margulies' Hathaway left County General in 2000; Clooney's Ross made a brief return to "ER" that year too. La Salle's Peter Benton (gone in '02) has done well in the intervening years, too. He’s a top surgeon, his son older and well. He didn’t seem as angry as he used to seem. He was there bedside with Wyle's Dr. Carter (gone '06), awaiting a kidney. Final scene, in the dark, with Hathaway and Ross. One turning to the other. A moment of intimacy, and those final words.
All's well that ends well for a wonderful show.

I love that episode. Clooney and Margulies still have that great chemistry that they had before they left the show. I loved their reunion in Seattle when Carol left Chicago to be with Doug. I kind of wish we see their twin daughters, but at least they we're mentioned. Also, the friendship between Benton and Carter is still very interesting to watch. They still get to each other's nerves. That is one of the most unforgetable episodes I seen in ER's history.
Hi all. See things as they are and write about them. Don?t waste your creative energy trying to make things up. Even if you are writing fiction, write the things you see and know. Help me! Could you help me find sites on the: Small business server 2003 buy. I found only this - how do transducers work.
