Fox To Do Plus-Size "Bachelor"
Fox says it's looking for "husky hunks" - the network's euphemism, not mine - to become bachelors in search of the bachelorette on a new dating show.
The only thing between this idea and a patent infringement by ABC?
The dater and datee are big - ummm, heavy, large, not small.

"FOX is setting out to prove that love comes in all shapes and sizes with the new inspirational dating competition series "More to Love." Executive-produced by Mike Fleiss (“The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette”), the unscripted series follows a single average guy with a big waist and an even bigger heart as he romances several confident and secure plus-size women. Each week, the husky hunk will wine and dine a group of curvy women to determine if they have more love to give or if they are truly more than he can handle. When the size of competition narrows, he will have to decide if one full-figured lady will become his true love."

As if obesity in America isn't bad enough, more and more television shows are condoning it. Being obese is not healthy and should not be celebrated. That is why there are shows like "Biggest Losers," "Celebrity Fit Club," etc. (not to mention thousands of books and dozens of diet plans). This show would only add to America's problem. It is time that people face the facts: fat is out.

This is Fox! In other words they'll probably have the not so in shape guy date not so in shape women and then trot in some uber model thin bimbos to choose from at the last moment.
I have been a plus size lady all my life. Its very hard to lose weight and sometimes you can't. Doesn't mean all obese people sit infront of the tv eating all night. Its very hard to lose weight. With the comments that i just read disturbed me. I am a plus size lady and proud of it. But when you guys say fat is never in style and never will be thats just sad on your part. Lets stop being so judgemental towards everyone and get to know the real true person on the inside. Everybody has something about them they don't like. Then people like you who comment about fat people just disgustes me. I am looking forward to watching this show. I think for the rude comments that were said need to grow up and get a reality check.
It's not that I don't have compassion towards heavier people, it's just that I see problems with people who just accept it. It's not healthy to do so. You're convincing yourself that everything is OK, when it's not. Being obese is extremely unhealthy and the more we say "Oh it's OK, they can't help it," the more we allow this crisis to continue. One out of every three people in America is overweight. That number is ridiculously high compared to other countries (Mexico in second place is only about 20% compared to our 33%).
The reality is that fat is not fantastic. Fat is unfortunate and I am sad to see people who flaunt it. Would you flaunt a tumor? Would you flaunt a mental disorder? Obesity is a disease, and it's about time people see it as such.
I totally agree that it makes me upset that people accept it and keep eating and eating the wrong foods. I agree its not healthy to be overweight. With me being overweight is not healthy but there are tons of people out there wanting to lose the weight out there but it takes time. In a way its like smoking, alcaholism, its a disease. I have a disease and its obesity. I accept it and I do my best to fix it. But i am not going to hide. I am a very beautiful plus size lady and i am proud of it, but at least i am trying to lose the weight. I am in Canada and i know the statistics of being overweight. The reality is fat is not fantastic yes but i am not going to hide my curves because its disgusting to some SPECIAL people. I guess it would be different if you were obese. You would understand more on our beautiful plus size part. I got diagnosed with MS two years ago. I just turned 25 years old yesterday. Its very hard struggling with fatigue and pain from this disease but i deal with it. I work full time, i exercise, swim, walk, and i enjoy my life being plus size. I guess what i am trying to say is PLUS SIZE LADIES AND MEN ARE BEAUTIFUL IN OUR OWN WAY. BUT WE UNDERSTAND OUR DISEASE AND WE WORK ON IT DAILY AND I DON'T GIVE UP ON MY LIFE.

"fat was never in style?" John, ever heard of a lilttle PHAT show called Roseanne? It ran and was in style for about 7 years before hitting syndication... Oprah is a plus size gal, last I checked, um, she was doing better than any woman on the ah, planet?
Phat girls have better cushion for pushin! I love Phat girls with the more curves the better. Not unhealthy, but girls like 200-275 lbs are the ones i look at the most. I don't like skin and bones showing, i like padding. And I like BIG BUTTS AND I CAN NOT LIE!!!
Time to take action to rescue some big handsome men (bhm). I am skinny/athletic and love, love big guys. The ones that come in 350+lbs sizes. I just hope that the show is more about acceptance and does not slide into making fun of the "fat" one...as usual... There are people out there like me that just have a nack for plus sized people. Fat is not healthy? Heck, neither is too skinny, smoking, not exercising, being stressed all the time, taking sun baths, driving to fast and put others in danger. It is easy to pick on the ones that are visually different (like other ethnicities or plus size people) and point the fingers at them.
I wish Fox had a show with a cut big bachelor and various girls/women of all shapes fighting for him.
