Melissa Rycroft to "Dancing with the Stars"
Sorry, Jase, it's over. I'm goin' dancin!
Admit it: You saw this one from the next county. Melissa Rycroft is joining "DWTS." She'll be the second one, along with Holly Madison, to fill out the dance card, depleted by all those injuries (Jewel, Nancy O'Dell).
Rycroft: Dumped by Bachelor Guy, who is now the most hated man on the planet, or maybe after Chris Brown.
People.com reported this earlier today, and I could kick myself for not realizing this is exactly what was going to happen. (ABC is neither confirming nor denying, which is the same thing as confirming.) Now, we'll all be able to discuss at length whether the whole thing (the dumping thing, on national TV, last week -- come on, how could you forget so quickly?) really was a con job, designed specifically to lead millions of viewers from "The Bachelor" to "Dancing With the Stars."
So now the big question: Did Nancy O really hurt her leg, or was she asked to step aside to make room for a more bankable star?

You know Nancy seemed to be doing so well and the injury came out of the blue. I wonder if it was rather that Nancy kept the injury quiet until they decided on who would replace her?
Good point, DWTS fan. That may well be the case. It just seems a terrifically odd coincidence - Jewel was definitely going, or so it seemed a couple weeks ago. But Nancy? That came out of no where. Injuries happen, of course. But...I'm suspicious nonetheless.
I am a fan of DWTS because it is based on your dance talent and nothing more. No one picking a bride at the end of the show. I agree with DWTS fan , I think its all about ratings. But if you got what it takes to get ratings, then good for whoever is on the show.
Melissa will do well on DWTS considering she was on the dance team in college.
You don't need to call The Bachelor a nasty name to get people to read this. You think he's the second most hated man on the planet? Not for me.... I know of a terrorist and a dictator that are obviously more hated. I doubt if Melissa even hates him. That was low....

Melissa has danced since she could walk. We were on HS dance team together. She was a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys! I think she will be amazing on the show! Go Melissa!
and btw I think he is more hated than Chris Brown, Brown had an addiction, and anger management issue to work through, Jason had no excuse. Jason went from being the most adored man, to now the most hated....wonder how that feels.
I think its fabulous! I was glad Melissa was not going to be the next bachelorette, because I am so done with that "car wreck" of a show. But, I think she is great. I love DWTS...so its perfect. Melissa will be wonderful on that show. I hope she is happy.
1) DWTS doesn't need The Bachelor to funnel more viewers to it - probably all the Bachelor viewers are DWTS viewers anyway. 2) Nancy O'Dell reportedly needs surgery to repair a torn meniscus, so there is no stunt. Plus, O'Dell appeared to be really looking forward to performing. 3) Does ABC have DWTS understudies - did Holly and Melissa know in advance of each injury that they could be called up? That would be fun to know.
Well.... I remember the first season of DWTS where Trista Sutter also from the bachelor who was also a former basketball teams dancer (or something like that)... Anyway, she was the first one kicked off... NO ONE cares about the bachelor! lol!!!

I think if ABC did plan for Melissa to be on DWTS it was a good idea. I think all the shows need each other at some point. I don't think Jason is the worest person in the world..Look at what a lot of people are doing in there everyday lives. I think it had to happen on TV which was not fair for ABC to do that to any of them. I just hope everyone can move on from all this Reality Show DRAMA! I wish Melissa the best, I think she is a great person, and I guess we will see how good of a dancer she is tonight. Good luck to ABC on all there shows, and I hope they can gain the trust back from some of there viewers, because it seems some want be watching some shows now becasue of all this. I hope everyone has a great night watching DWTS!!!!
I just watched DWTS. Melissa was fabulous. She was graceful and elegant and scored 23. Awesome.

I am so glad Melissa is on the show. I watch the bachelor all the time but after this past season, I have no plans on watching it again. I really don't like Jason and I think he is a very selfish person. I feel sorry for his son. How any man could go on tv and make a fool out of another person is beyond me. He is parading all around the talk shows with Molly on his arm, to me he should have laid low and kept his relationship private. Just how much does Melissa need to have this shoved in her face. And Molly, what kind of a girl is she? I bet she don't have any girlfriends. If she had any common sense she would see what kind of man Jason really is. Heaven help her if another girl catches Jasons' eye.
