'Nother "Star Trek" Trailer
I love being part of Paramount's guerilla marketing campaign to get the word out on the May release of "Star Trek."
(Right -- like this is the biggest mystery known to humankind; does it even need "marketing?") Just got yet another trailer for the movie, and this one runs just over two minutes. It's posted on NBC.com, and has been the last couple days. A nice meaty trailer, if you're in the mood...

The trailer is cool as been all of them. If it does not
live up the the hype, like 99.9% of movie trailers
do, there will be some backlash. The cast looks
strong and as a Star Trek fan I have to give them
a chance.
Will this exist inside the canonical Star Trek universe and or will it be in it's own universe like Enterprise was?
And what's the deal with the ads at the beginning and end of this trailer, which is itself a huge ad?

The first I have no answer to;
The second: NBC bookends all of the clips I get from NBC/Hulu with such ads. I figured it was a small price to pay to see, as Randy observes, a pretty good trailer. But the absurdity did not escape me either - you are looking at a commercial wrapped in an ad.
