"South Park:" The Mouse Attacks
Just catching up now to Wednesday's "South Park" premiere. The Jonas Brothers. Purity rings. Kenny. His girlfriend. Ohhhh boy.
"SP" has a way of catching one's attention, and this one is a full-frontal assault on Disney, the Disney Channel, Mickey M-O-U-S-E. Am I missing anyone? Here's the clip. There are a couple of bad words here -- for that I apologize -- but this is what your kids are watching....Me too.

"but this is what your kids are watching" This is a very disingenuous statement. You make it sound like its a bad thing. If parents have a problem with there children watching this stuff, they should get up and change the channel, not blame the tv shows for the lack of parenting at home.

I love the show...and love the clip. No hit on "SP" - but when I post a clip with a certain amount of raw language, I feel it incumbent on me to rationalize putting it in a blog; my point was, this is on TV and it's what kids are watching so no reason why it shouldn't be here as well.

I'd rather my kids be watching this than My Super Sweet 16 or American Idol. That's just me. South Park is intended for mature audiences. They have the disclaimer right at the beginning.
South Park has a long running tradition of being one, if not the only, cartoon on TV to actually raise ethical questions in a viable satire format. If kids are watching it, that's great, I'd rather have my kids watching something that is intelligent and relevant like SP than most of the intellectually devoid programming that is just aimed at the child marketing demographic. I applaud Matt Stone and Try Parker for their commitment to quality content over selling SWAG.
