Spock to "Fringe" for OTO

mr%20spock.jpg Here's an unusual TV cameo: Leonard Nimoy, who needs absolutely no introduction, will guest on "Fringe." Fox just announced.

The details: "...Nimoy will appear as pivotal person of interest, William Bell...In next week’s all-new “Unleashed” episode, airing Tuesday, April 14 (9:01-10:00 PM ET/PT), animal rights activists ransack a laboratory and get more than they bargained for when one of the caged “animals” unleashes a ferocious appetite. With Charlie’s life on the line, Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv), Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble) come face-to-face with the gnarly piece of fringe science..."

Nimoy will be in "Trek," and J.J. is also directing so...is this a favor or a very clever bit of stunt promotional casting in anticipation of one of the big, maybe THE, big summer releases? I'm going with "favor;" "Trek" needs almost no promotion at this point...
