"American Idol:" Kara's Future Un-commentable?

Out of the just concluded Fox conference call, there was THIS interesting little aside: Will Kara be back? You know - Kara DioGuardi, the fifth wheel on the four-wheel bus AKA the "Idol" judging panel.
Kevin Reilly, whom you know, was asked: How many judges will return? (which was a smart way of asking about Kara because we already know three will be back, and we know which ones.)
"I can't comment on that right now," while adding that after the season ends. "we'll sit down and look at the show, like we do every year."
(Which begs the question - they're not sitting down and looking at it NOW? But that's another story...)
When an exec issues a no comment with respect to talent, as opposed to an "O my God, we LOVE him/her, and the franchise would be lost without him/her," it usually means one of two things:
a.) They're in the middle of contract negotiations with the talent, or;
b.) They've already made up their minds, and it's over.
Why would Kara be gone if the answer lies behind Door B.? If she is - and I'm not drawing a conclusion one way or another - it's because they think she hasn't necessarily added anything, while soaking up extra minutes that the show has been -ill-prepared to adjust to, explaining the multiple overages this season, forcing several million people to physically hurl their DVRs through the living room window (and then submitting the bill to Fox.)

i dont think kara has added anything to the show. the problem with 4 judges is that it makes simon the tiebreaker and thats where i have a problem with it.
then again its only her first year. personally i think its time for a massive change on the judge front. assuming simon is an untouchable, i wouldnt mind seeing randy and paula replaced with new blood. there judges remarks including simons are repetitive and predictable to the point where we all know what theyre going to say before they say it.
i do give paula some credit for moving away from the always say something good mantra that shes maintained for the past years.
Simon will say how nice or poorly a contestant looks then remind us 10 minutes late that its a singing competition

The only thing I like about Kara is that she herself has a great voice and has written sings for so many top 10 artists. I don't like that she seems very bias with her comments and appears to have her favorites there doesn't seem to be much chemistry with her and the other judges though. I love Simon if he left the show I doubt I would continue to watch it. Paule is pure entertainment even though i do ofetn mute the TV when she starts to ramble on. Randy...welll I don't thin he would be missed much if he left. I would like to see Somin,Paula and maybe a musician of some sort to be Judge #3 someone that would fit well with Paula and Simon

Kara just seems to echo Randy. The only thing she adds is extra time...to the show. Slows things down.
I don't care for Kara, I think it makes the critiques way way way too long, and I am sorry but she also annoys me. ITA with another poster that she has no chemistry with any of them.. Please let her go! I would al perfer to see Randy or Paula replaced by a guest judge each week (they can alternate one of them each week). Once Simon is gone I am afraid "Idol" will be gone as well. He really is the only one that really has a handle on the talent and almost always spot as to what the audience is probably thinking. The others are too worried about hurting feelings and If the contestants can't stand the heat thenthey have no business on the show.
i honestly dont care about karas future. the only thing i care about is that paula comes back. without her, im not watching it anymore. she is the CHARM of that show.
PAULA NEEDS TO COME BACK. Who cares about Kara? definitely not Idol fans. Im a little worried fox may wanna make Paula sign for several years and thats why she hasnt signed yet- she may only want 1 more year right now. i think idol may wanna "trap" paula on the show in order to more easily get simon to come back after season 9. its not cool! just give paula what she wants, PLEASE. i cant stand idol without paula!
What has Kara added to the show? Making it go overtime, being Randy's puppet, sing-off with Bikini Girl. I can't stand her! Thank goodness her contract is only one year. Don't bother renewing her contract! Just let her go back to songwriting and write a song about porks and chops!
I can't believe that Kara is the judge we're talking about . The girl was just so "not there". All she does is oppose Simon, echo whatever Randy says and try to compete with the female idol contestants. If she goes I don't think anyone will miss her. It will be good riddance to bad rubbish.
Are you people kidding me??? Kara at least KNOWS what she is saying, unlike the junky Paula, who is non-stop and makes no sense except to herself! Kara and Simon should stay, Paula needs to go!
