And...my wrap for tomorrow:
"Cry Baby"..."Slow Ride"..."Someone to Watch Over Me..."Hot Stuff." Is there any song that this gutsy kid messed up over the last three or four weeks? Over the last two months? Not really, but Los Angeles native Allison Iraheta still came up on the short of a vote that totaled 64 million. That's an "Idol" record for a non-finale, by the way, so Iraheta knows she has at least gone out in a blaze of glory.
This end was not pre-ordained, by the way. She way better than Danny Gokey’s now-famous shriek performance from Tuesday's show, and had more vocal power than Kris Allen. (Adam Lambert? He's the winner anyway, so...)
Some more thoughts on last night:
Slash? Who woulda thought he would have been the best mentor/judge of the season, but that he was. His criticisms actually seemed constructive -- not the usual "he/she can REALLY sing" blather. Then last night, the group sing, "School's out for Summer;" not bad, either, and maybe the reason the set collapsed in rehearsal Tuesday.
Paula, singing her "I'm Just here for the Music" single? Why not just pretend to be Simon at this juncture? Here goes: "Good, but just a little old-fashioned. And why channel Britney, or yourself, from 10 years ago? And that ghastly light show. It just gave me a headache. But that said, Paula, I'm fairly certain you'll be back next week..."
Chris Daughtry, back, on this stage: This was a big deal, no doubt (yes, No Doubt also sang; quite nice.) He then performs a new single off a new July album, which is officially titled, "Leave this Town." How vivid, Ryan asked, was his loss on this stage three years ago? "Very, very vivid. In that time it felt like the world was coming to an end, but I got over that in 30 seconds." Good perspective for Allison.

allison should have stayed,way better than gokey and allen .Was it RIGGED? The girl out did both contestants.I will not watch idol next season and urge u to not watch either.Look at the guilty looks on gokey and allen .They knew they weren't as good.I will also boycot the tour!
Well it was time for Allison to go home she always screams. I do not think she is role modelo for teens. I really did not like her. She sounds like she smokes twenty cigarrettes..I hate her hair, and her actitud..She was not charismatic..good finally she when home.
It was painfull to look a her face..Ugly red hear, i really do not want my daughter to look after her.
I find myself watching the same "Idol" movie every year at this time. Each January I hope that Idol can transcend it's perennial status as no more than a sophomoric popularity contest. Allison proved the best performer over the last few weeks. She has brought an understanding of phrasing, musicality, originality and emotion that belies her age. While the rest of the contestants have been jockeying for position, she has come out week after week and shown her true colors. My hat is off to this brillaibt teen.
As for the shallow comments of the previous posters, I would hope that as a parent you be proud of a daughter who was unafraid to share such a gift and would pursue her dream.

The plain simple truth of what happened to Allison is that she did not get enough votes. Majority of tweens vote for who they think is cute and for sure it's not for a girl contestant of their age. It's popularity contest for this group which is the biggest voting group.
Fans of Adam mostly also are fans of Allison. They split votes. And these Adam's fans push Allison to be in the finals with Adam.
During Rat Pack when Allison gave an outstanding rendition of Someone To Watch Over Me, these same fan group of Adam voted mainly for Allison leaving Adam out anyway they think he is safe.
It's why Allison was in Top 2 and Adam was in Bottom 3.
But since this happened, this same fan group this week voted solely for Adam.
Both Danny and Kris have united solid voting block from their Christian churches who meet every Tuesday night to vote solidly for 2 hours for their idol non-stop. Danny's have call centers to call in for voting. They're given GO signal when to start voting even without watching the show. That's why Gokey's smug attitude because of that confidence of solid block voting for him.
Same with Kris except Danny's group is bigger.
And this same church groups campaign not to vote for Adam and keep sending smear posts.
