Alec Baldwin to CNN's Cafferty: You Are a Loser, Sir

"Lemon, Could you fire that moron Cafferty please..."
Before I sign off for the day, must share this with whomever may be wandering by in the night...
Alec Baldwin's rebuke to Jack Cafferty.
This is what I love about Alec Baldwin. He says...whatever the hell comes to mind...
This is Alec B's latest in HuffPo, on the Jump. Entirely self explanatory and ABSOLUTELY worth reading. A hoot...
When I think of it, I'll go fishing for a response from Jack tomorrow...
I was sorry to watch, live on CNN, Edward R. Murrow and Emmy Award-winning broadcaster and all around "Man of the People" Jack Cafferty spit on me on his broadcast today.
After decrying the notion of "actors and comedians" running for public office, Cafferty stated, "Baldwin's credentials are questionable... but Franken is no slouch. He's Harvard educated."
So Franken fits the mold for Cafferty because he went to Harvard? What other schools does Cafferty approve of as breeding grounds for office holders in America? What other professions does Cafferty believe should be excluded from holding office?
The material I received from a contingent in Ohio was back in 1996, but Playboy omitted that fact in editing the piece. As for running for office in the future, who knows? I always felt that doing so was a way to serve one's country. But, now that I think about what Cafferty has on his mind, maybe it's a lousy idea. Heck, I only have a BFA in drama from NYU. Perhaps New York University should print on its undergraduate drama degrees "Warning: the bestowing of this degree precludes you from seeking any public office per Jack Cafferty of CNN."
I would like to make a deal with Cafferty. Jack, you don't tell people that a career in the performing arts disqualifies them from seeking elected office, and I won't say publicly that your being convicted of leaving the scene of an accident in which you struck a cyclist and then ran two red lights while you were pursued by the police and were subsequently ordered to serve 70 hours of community service back in May of 2003 disqualifies you from posing as a "Man of the People" on a major cable news network.
And meanwhile, here's what JC said on HIS blog...
The actor Alec Baldwin is reportedly eyeing a run for Congress just as former comedian Al Franken becomes the newest show biz type to join lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Baldwin vowed to leave the country if George Bush was elected, but he’s still here and now reportedly wants to become part of the Washington establishment.
We’ve gotten used to celebrities on Capitol Hill drawing attention to this cause or that cause from time to time. But it’s also nothing new for these celebrities to step into the role of lawmaker.
Former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura became Governor of Minnesota in 1998. He declined to run for a second term.
Actor Fred Thompson, notably of Law & Order fame, served as a Senator from Tennessee before mounting a failed bid for the White House.
And speaking of Presidents, Ronald Reagan, of course, was an actor before jumping to politics, as was California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. And we can’t forget singer and actor Sonny Bono.
The list goes on including stars from shows like the Love Boat, and the Dukes of Hazard who all have spent time in Washington on behalf of constituents who elected them to office.
Baldwin’s credentials are questionable… but Al Franken is no slouch. He’s Harvard educated and one of his first duties will be as a committee member for the confirmation hearing of Sonia Sotomayor next week.
Why it occurs to actors who spend their time pretending to be someone else that they are the answer to our nation’s problems is a mystery. On second thought, how much worse can they be than the ones that are groomed for life inside the Beltway?
Here’s my question to you: Is politics a good second career choice for actors and comedians

I wouldn't vote for Bozo Baldwin for dog catcher. And by the way, a drama degree qualifies you for public office? Really? Says who, you?
baldwin is a complete WACK JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He needs lots of Mental health Help LOL For sure
Have a problem with Baldwin, look at the some of the loosers in
washington. While you at it look at what's going on in New York,
he could'nt do worse and maybe he'll do better
candidates should be well-informed on issues and smart enough to solve problems. Actors are no smarter of stupider, in general , than anyone else!
Not a big Baldwin fan, but he seems to be right here. If Cafferty can determine whether someone is qualified for government office based solely on education, then we're all in trouble. Remember GW Bush went to Yale, where did that get us?
BTW, Fred Thompson was a Senator before he did Law & Order, so he was a politician first, then an actor, then a failed poltician.
It boggles my mind how people try to say who can do what. If he wants to run let him isn't this what our country is about. He still has to win to hold office and he should be given the opportunity like everyone else. Some of these newscasters think that they can tell you what to do or think. I listen to myself, I research things out and them form an opinion. Jack Cafferty and others like him think that their opinion is the only one. Well newsflash, I can form my own opinion and so can others.

GW Bush went to Yale for Business and gave us 7 of 8 years of a thriving economy. Yes, he could balanced the budget while things were more stable but he caved into a liberal spending and dwindled the treasury done to peanuts. Obama would have done worse and...oh, that's right-he IS doing worse, borrowing off the backs of our children. That's called begging.
I usually like Cafferty, but he's completely out of his mind here. Politicians are supposed to be representatives of the people, and unless our population is made up of 90% old white rich attorneys, we've got some flaws in the system. Politicians aren't really any different than other celebrities, they act and wave and smile before the cameras giving the rest of us lines we want to hear so they can make big money while performing fairly ignoble acts off camera. Cafferty is a celebrity newsman, Baldwin's an actor, Bush a celebrity son of a celebrity rich and connected family. It used to be we elected celebrity generals, the republicans gave us the actors Reagan and Ah-nold. And let's not forget that Harvard gave us Theodore J. Kaczynski, aka the Unabomber.
The economic crisis started under Bush and the republican insistence on deregulation the economy was not thriving under Bush because we were paying for a war we should not of been in.
Obama has been in office only 5 months and trust me.. can not mess up as bad as Bushie did.
re: itgrrl's comments, "should not of been in" is not proper english.
"should not have been in" would be correct. I'm guessing you didn't go to either Harvard or Yale.

Baldwin's response was well stated- if he speaks as well as he writes, he certainly wouldn't be the least lucid politician.
And he's correct. Cafferty is certainly struck by the Harvard aura.
Rather than jumping on Baldwin, the author of the article could have thrown a shot at Cafferty's attitude. Lord knows Cafferty gave him enough material. After all, isn't Cafferty a performer, doesn't he read off of a teleprompter? He wasn't doing in depth interviews when I used to watch him on the local news.
Baldwin is the perfect actor: delusional at times; part schizophrenic; a little paranoia; great wit. Does that work for a politician? If he thinks he can run for office and sidestep the audio tapes calling his daughter a "pig" or the domestic violence issues with his former wife, then he is more delusional than I thought. He takes himself too seriously and is not thick skinned enough to be a politician. Call him a faggot and he'll unravel. Let him run. It will be great entertainment.
I'll vote for Alec Baldwin with both my hands: at least we will have one person in the country who is brave enough to say "I hate it" instead of "It hurts my feeling". Reg. the degree, let me remind that Mr. Baldwin has attended the university and was seeking for the degree in Political Science. Good luck, Mr. Baldvin and best wishes; you can relay on me as your supporter in the election.
Remember, this stellar candidate referred to his own daughter as a pig.
When Baldwin meets a bit of confrontation, God knows what he might say about about a foreign national or head of state.
Baldwin's a hothead and an idiot. Whether he went to NYU, Harvard or didn't graduate from high school, the garbage that seeps from his lips proves it.
Work on fatherhood--then think about serving the people.
Alec should not give up his day job.He is a good actor.
He should take a Dale Carnegie course How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Alec is passionate at attacking others in politics but has not told us how to fix the problems. He is way too sensitive and takes on an angry tone.
It was wrong for Jack Cafferty to say Al Frankin was okay because he was a Harvard graduate but Alec was wrong bringing up for all to see Cafferty driving record. Jack Cafferty appologized and that is no ones business. Cafferty was very mild compared with what Alec will go through if he runs.

If Alec Baldwin ran for office it would be a another sad day in America, the first one was when Obama got elected.
Take a day to think about Alec, work on being a good Dad first!
Absolutely - I mean look at the current president. He attended Harvard Law and he continues to throw the United States into further turmoil.
