Paul McCartney to 'Late Show'

This is big "Late Show with Dave" news -- Paul McCartney is gonna be in the house on Wednesday.
Most famous time on this particular stage was about half a century or so. And how memorable was THAT last time? (A correspondent, "Laurie," scolds me for saying this will be the first time back; she insists he was back on the stage in the early '90s for a special. Thanks, L.)
Details/clips on the jump...And a walk down memory lane...
Paul McCartney will make his first visit to the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Wednesday, July 15 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.
The legendary musician, who, as part of The Beatles, made his U.S. television debut at the Ed Sullivan Theater on "The Ed Sullivan Show" 45 years ago, returns to that very stage to sit down for an interview with Letterman. McCartney will also perform later in the broadcast.
Besides his iconic and groundbreaking work with The Beatles, the multiple Grammy Award-winning artist, who is the most successful musician and composer of all time, has also been hailed for his work with his band, Wings, as well as for his solo projects. He most recently released the album, Electric Arguments, his third release under the name "The Fireman."
McCartney will begin an exclusive series of shows across the United States, beginning July 17 at Citi Field in New York City, and then heading to Washington, D.C., Boston, Atlanta, Tulsa and winding up in Dallas on Aug. 19.

"And how memorable was THAT last time?"
LOL...only to the Depends segment of your reading demographic Gay.
Very timely of Letterman to score this little ratings boost.
If he's got his act together, he oughtta track down as many members of the original audience and fill the old barn with them.
Of course, that may require making the Theater more ADA compliant to handle the crush of wheelchairs and walkers.
And instead of the shrill screams that we TV watchers had to endure in '64, the 2009 reprise of the crowd soundtrack would more likely be a cacophony of belches, duck calls and faint cries of "Louder!!".
Hell, tell Dave to make it an All-Sullivan night.
Perhaps Neil Best could step up and do his best Wally Cox monologue.
The evening will not be complete without a surprise appearance by Topo Gigio!!
And there's gotta be a plate spinner or two lurking around the entrails of the "America's Got Talent" studios.
This could be a really big show.
Any time Paul is out and about it's a great thing. It is very nice to see him going through the same things he did many years ago. Understanding how important and profound The Beatles were takes an effort, and they were indeed the most important rock and roll band after Elvis.
A new book is posted in its entirety at http://thegoodguise.wordpress.com/ that proves that John and Paul were the two witnesses that appear in The Bible in Revelation 11:3. If you want to really understand The Beatles, especially the Lennon-McCartney duo, go and read the book. It's FREE!
While you are learning about the two witnesses you will see that a new understanding of their artistic efforts is revealed. For example, the 'and of course Henry the horse dances the waltz' phrase is explained in detail, putting to rest the debate that had carried on about the phrase for the past 40 years.
Be a part of it all. And, see Paul anywhere you can, especially on The Late Show.
What a load of crap Jacob. Henry the horse was taken verbatim from a poster Lennon bought. They made good music but bible revelations is absolute nonsense.
Paul McCartney still rocks after all these years.
I think it will be a wonderful show too Islander505. I like Paul alot.
Do you really need DEVO to help people understand?
I heard they will be around for interpritation.
Just in case you need it to be understood by people who may take you seriously.
They are cool guys too.
Hi all. The dead might as well try to speak to the living as the old to the young. Help me! Could you help me find sites on the: About credit score. I found only this - credit report with score. How often can one open credit cards without affecting your credit score? Your having a good credit score will help you get a deal with a much lower interest rate. With best wishes ;-), Kadir from Iraq.
