THE BPL

Best Printable Line comes with the caveat of the quote being able to be reprinted for people of all ages. If not for this rule, Ari Gold would win every week. If not for this rule, I'd have been fired for dropping too many curses and lewd material in this blog.

The Big Knish

The Big Knish is awarded at the end of each season to the character the most BPLs. Here's the history so far:

Season 4: Ari Gold
Season 3.5: Drama, E
Season 3: Ari Gold, Turtle
Season 2: Johnny Drama
Season 1: Johnny Drama**

** Entourage the blog began midway through Season 2, but we went back and did the research from Season 1. Not surprisingly, Drama won that season's Big Knish, too.

Ice, Ice Drama

By Mark La Monica

If you didn't see the shafting of Turtle's record deal with Saigon coming, then maybe you should take a few days off from work and go see Dr. Melfi.

Two reasons it could never work out: 1) Two big-time players in the show would detract from the show; 2) The record industry, especially the rap side of it, is extremely shady.

However, it was quite amusing to see Drama being dangled off the balcony by Saigon's new/old manager. And the fact that this manager knew Drama was in "Viking Quest" was an eloquent touch by the writers.

If you're wondering "Where have I seen that before?" the answer is simple:In 1990, Vanilla Ice claimed that Death Row Records entrepreneur Suge Knight dangled him off a 15th-story balcony of a hotel demanding royalties from "Ice, Ice Baby."

Come to think of it, Drama and Vanilla Ice have a lot in common. Both were one-hit wonders with "Viking Quest" and "Ice, Ice Baby." (Although, some could successfully argue that Ice's song "Stop That Train" was good.) Both are now washed up and desperate for work.

Could this possibly be the stage-setting for an episode in which Drama gets a call to be on "The Surreal Life" or some other reality show for old-school celebs? That would be so beyond hilarious that it's not even funny.

COMING TUESDAY: "The Celebrity List"

It would have been better had they hung Turtle out the window, but they probably couldn't lift the no talent, fat slob. It was nice to see him get shafted though, although I guess that means he will continue leeching off Vince. What a loser.

Lamonica, if I told you you use the term "beyond hilarious" way too much, would that be something you were interested in?

Yes, Captain Redundant, that's something I would be interested in. So interested that I searched this entire blog and the phrase "beyond hilarious" was used four times in 38 posts here. That's a .105 batting average.

We get a full decription of the the rules of "shotgun" in your blog but no mention of "The List"? As in the lists that couples create of celebrities they are allowed to sleep with? When bookstore girl told Vince that she was engaged but that it was cool because he was on her "list", I would say it was "beyond hilarious".

Great episode, and the Vanilla Ice comparison is right on the money. I was personally bored though with the Turtle storyline, and yes you could see this coming. Having the characters independent of Vince spreads the show out to much, and defeats the purpose of the show.

I did love the end though, The Ramones movie is gonna be great, and I want to see Vince in it more than Aquaman.

So, I was off for the first Sunday night this season, and as such, didn't DVR the ep. Missed the first four minutes. Thank God HBO repeats stuff more than that one poster on this blog slams my boy Turtle.

Overall, a great ep -- I think Ari gets Line of the Week with "E, do you want me to call a cab? Is that something you'd be interested in?"

Perhaps Captain Redundant completely missed the part of the blog that was in bold and italic that read: COMING TUESDAY: "The Celebrity List"

If you're gonna hammer the writer, at least be accurate in your hammering.

Cool episode. Anyone notice Ari brushing off Vinny and E early on in the ep.? Ari has his big new agency and look's to have soured on Vinny's choices the previous four episode's. I hope that is the angle they take. It was obvious to me from the moment Turtle and Drama were at SONY waiting for Saigon that the direction this episode was taking was that of Saigon avoiding Turtle because he hooked up with another manager. Good to see that E seem's to have again become the decision maker in Vince's career. Prior to this episode Vinny was making his own decisions without consulting for the most part with E. Also finally we got an episode that lasted more than 23 minute's. It was clocked in at about 28 minutes.

I'm looking forward to the Ramones film as well, although I can see it never getting off the ground, as some studio head would undoubtedly sh*t-can the thing as not being commercially viable enough.

Who is the girl that sleeps with Vince this week? I know i have seen her in something!

She was in the In-Laws

STOP TRASHING TURTLE!!! Ahh I can't take it, he's my favorite. I don't trash Drama every post, even though that would be my pleasure, so leave the 2nd funniest character of the show alone!! (I can't deny Ari's #1 spot). I actually didn't think this was such a great episode, especially coming off of such brilliance as the Vegas ep. My least favorite of the season by far, except the brilliant end with Blitzkreig Bop playing and the three of them walking in to see Ari.

Mixed feelings...The NY Observer did a whole write-up on Drama last week. While it was good to see the Brothers Chase mocked-up in an artist's rendering, the article was written by some douchebag who praised Drama while saying he's not a fan of "Entourage", a show he calls "uneven."

i agree with al, turtle is one of the group, notice how hes always willing to talk it over with a joint
