This world is getting crazier . . . and smaller . . . by the day.
A few weeks back, I e-wondered aloud how many of these random names in "Entourage" are actually people the writers know. Blog reader Dave gave us the inside scoop back then. This week, he's at it again.
Ari Gold needed a private plane to get him and the boys to Cannes after LAX shut down. (P.S. Blog reader Blastmaster claims you should only fly in to or out of Burbank or Orange County. He works with air traffic controllers, so trust him.)
Ari told Lloyd to call Kenny Dichter and get him a private plane. Blog reader Dave then posted this comment:
"Kenny Dichter - Bellmore Kennedy Class of '86. Starting guard on the basketball team."
I just did some research.
- On Feb. 17, 1986, Kenny Dichter hit 10 of 11 free throws as Bellmore JFK beat Garden City, 72-60, to to earn a regular-season share of the American League II-A title.
- On Jan. 31, 1986, Kenny Dichter had the game-winning assist in a 58-56 win over Berner. According to the report in Newsday, "Dichter fired a 40-foot baseball pass to Todd Zimmerman . . . who was open on the left wing, sank a 15-foot jumper with three seconds left to make it 58-56."
Kenny, buddy, if you're having a low self-esteem day and decided to Google yourself and you came across this, email me.
More importantly, Kenny, can you get me on a private jet for a few hours?

They should have an Ari Gold spinoff.

I bet he hooked up the entourage cast with some air time in exchange for a name drop.
Kenny D has always been larger than life. He's owned his own businesses since he could rub 2 quarters together. I went to the University of Wisconin and was a fraternity brother of his. He employed half the fraternity selling his t-shirts at NCAA events. Kenny is a player and I'm no surprised he got 2 shout outs on HBO.
