Eeek! Where have we been?

I, for one, have been out of commission with a broken arm, but after two weeks out of a cast and a week of physical therapy I can type without screaming in pain.

Annnnyway...

Turns out I did get my Nintendo Wii at Toys R Us last month. I stood in line, like a good retail soldier that Sunday morning with some other very nice people in Plantation. We all got our Wiis.
That seems to be the way to go -- wait 'til the big-box retailers run ads in the Sunday paper and you'll be darn near guaranteed to get one. The manager at my Toys R Us informed the crowd that they got something like 84 Wiis that day.
A few weeks ago I asked a GameStop employee if they had any Wiis. He rolled his eyes and said no, but that they got fairly regular shipments that disappear within minutes. He explained that the GameStops get a certain number of Wiis per district and they're doled out among the stores, compared with Targets and TRU stores, which get big shipments for each store. So it's easier to pick up a Wii at a big-box.
