No mall madness at the Gardens
It seemed more like a busy Saturday than Black Friday at the Gardens mall.
The mall opened its doors at 8 a.m. At 10 a.m. parking was still plentiful. Some stores -- the Apple store, Macy's, the Gap, Bath and Body Works -- seemed busy, while at other stores clerks stood outside to beckon passing shoppers.
The longest line: Starbucks. The scene hardly evoked images ofa post-Thanksgiving shopping frenzy.
A manageable pace of the holiday rush was just fine with Faith Higgins, 22 of Port St. Lucie. She left home at 6:30 am to hit the sales here, two counties to the south.
"It's very casual," Higgins said. "I like that."
