Holiday Gifts 2007: Parenting Mag's top toys
Parenting magazine's November issue is out with its annual Toys of the Year list. They chose 26 toys which were picked by kids who tested more than 100 toys for them. (Now there's a good afterschool job: toy tester) and their moms, who rated for safety, durability and annoyance factor. The toys are grouped by ages.

Two that stood out to me (for my 5- and 8-year-old):
The I Can Play Guitar from Fisher Price. Plug it into the TV and onscreen characters teach your kid the basics and some songs.
The Jam Pack Jam game from Cranium is a hoot. Kids scramble to pack items (like a tire, suitcase, chair) into a car and close its trunk. If you don't slam it shut before the timer goes off, everything comes flying out.
