I'm fighting mall withdrawal

I’m going back to the mall tonight.

I’m returning a tie to Tommy Bahamas, even thought it will be dark by the time I leave work.

I admit I’ve been too scared all week to go to the Town Center at Boca Raton, where I normally shop. Who wouldn’t be after a mother and child were found murdered in their car. It just makes your blood run cold, doesn’t it?

But I realized tonight -- that like any crime scene -- what could be safer? I’m sure the mall is crawling with cops.

I’m sure I’m not alone in avoiding the mall all week. Didn’t you?

I ended up at the flea market in Pompano and even hit the TJMaxx on Lyons for last-minute Christmas gifts last night. But there’s no use avoiding it. And not to make light of the subject in any way, I’m having mall withdrawal.

So I’m off into the night. Wish me luck.
