What a sale!
I was trying not to buying anything this weekend — really. Then I found myself on Saturday between appointments and near Macy’s. And I remembered Macy’s was having a sale.![]()
This wasn’t any sale, but up to 60 percent off clearance racks with another 30 percent on top of that. Unlike sales where the racks are so messy and the clothes so tired I walk away, Macy’s racks were neatly lined with tops, jackets and dresses of this century.
I found an off-white Rafaella casual jacket – perfect for the chilly airports on an upcoming summer trip. With the extra discount, the jacked was marked down from $94 to $22. How could I pass that up?
Kudos to Macy’s for a real sale. That’s one reason I’ll keep shopping at department stores. If you missed this one, hang on. Sales people said another one is coming for Memorial Day weekend.
While at Town Center this weekend, I also stopped in Easy Spirit, which is at the new Terrace section of the mall along with Coldwater Creek, Chico’s and Anthropologie.
Easy Spirit is not your mother’s shoe store, anymore. I found several cute styles of sandals, including these at top for $39.
The price was right, too, at $39 and up. But that didn’t quite match Macy’s sale so I saved that for another shopping trip. -- Marcia “Bargain Hunter” Pounds
