The new Kohl's in Boynton Beach was a near ghost town this Saturday -- what a stark contrast to its opening days. I'm sure the dour economy is to blame. Growing unemployment (see my story today, Could you live on $275 a week? and rising gas and food prices are not helping us shopoholics!

Conservative buying is my motto. But I did allow myself some Simply Vera sunglasses on sale for $18 ($21 online, oddly enough). They also have other brands for 50 percent off, around $15. Good sunglasses with 100 percent UV protection are a necessity in South Florida -- not something to deny yourself. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds
