Halloween frightening for shoppers

I'm not going to tell you what I decided to go as for a Halloween party this weekend, but you can probably guess from my shopping experience.

First, I stopped at the Party Supermarket to buy a wig. The place had a line around the block waiting to try on the pre-made, overly expensive costumes. I found a long dark wig with bangs for $14.99.

Then I found some flat Mary-Jane shoes at Ross Dress for Less, $12. Next I needed a loud dress or skirt. I had nothing in my closet, of course.

I went to Kohl's and found a scary number of choices masquerading as fashion trends. I picked up one blue-and-black polka dot number for $8. I also found a freshwater pearl necklace I couldn't resist for $11.99.

Know who I'm going to be? All I know is I've already spent way too much money on this Halloween costume. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds
