Double check product number before ordering online

Black Friday weekend I finally broke down and ordered a large flat screen television. My TVs are so huge and heavy, I have to call in the troops to move one, or even to hook up an accessory. I don't want to become a statistic, one of those poor souls who gets a broken neck when the television lands on them.

I liked the Sharp Aquos model and Dell was advertising a great deal on the 42" one. On the Dell Website, there was a picture of a flat black TV with chrome trim, and underneath a headline that said 42" Sharp Aquos, 1080p HDTV. At $779 with free shipping, it seemed too good to be true.

I clicked on the picture with the Sharp Aquos headline and it took me to another screen where there was an order form with a long model number. I trusted the picture and headline and ordered what I thought was the 42" Sharp Aquos TV.

Delivery day...you guessed it...not an Aquos at all, but a shiny black plastic Sharp TV, which at $779, was pretty much the price I could have gotten this model on sale anywhere.

When I called Dell, they asked me to prove that I clicked on a Sharp Aquos picture, or pay a 15% restocking fee. I'm going to take this up with my credit card company, I'm hoping I don't have to pay the fee, but I sure have learned a good lesson.

Before you order anything online, find the exact model you want, and make a note of the model number. Do not trust the pictures on the website.
