Henri Bendel opens in Aventura

We know it's high end and the economy is in the dumper, but we still can dream.

Henri Bendel, the Fifth Ave. mecca for the rich and famous, has opened in the Aventura Mall.

If you think you can't afford anything at Bendel's check out the Website at henribendel.com.
You can find some cool stuff:

The 36-by-36-inch Landmark Scarf featuring Henri Bendel’s iconic Beaux Arts building is 100 percent silk charmeuse and sells for $125.

And I just adore their Bendel Girls Limited Edition dolls. They are 17-inch and carrying Bendel's signature brown and white shopping bags. They come in blonde, bruinette, redhead and Africian American and sell for only $68. The Web site cautions that they are for collectible use onyl and not for children. So buy one for your grown-up fashionista or for yourself.

The store is located at 19501 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura, 305-935-7424.

The merchandise is ugly, the store heinous. How can they (Limitedbrands) destroy an iconic New York name by producing such poorly designed, cheap looking products? Very disappointing. No one with any style would be caught dead shopping in this store.

Thanks, Bella, for your feedback. I had high hopes for the store. Did it have any redeeming social value?

Well every new store that opens will always have people who love the items and some that don't...so I'm not attacking Bella when I respond to her comment. I actually work for the brand as well as for the district of the new stores that are rolling out with these test stores of Henri Bendel brand products only. And what you consider destroying the icon of what Henri Bendel stood for isn't not exactly correct...in fact you have not been told the history behind every piece created in that store. Every handbag has either been archived from the very beginning of Henri bendel when he was still just a milliner branching out. Every item has a deeper meaning of what Henri Bendel wanted and carriers some of the heritage of it in each bag. Whether its a tote with a print on every label he designed for his items..down to the lining of the bags being his favorite color.
In reference to the "cheap" looking product it was created for the "bendel girl" who wants something special but not spending the money that could cover 2 months rent. :) Limited brands had nothing to do with any of the actual changing of Henri Bendel. They are connected as a whole in the business family, but henri bendel is the one brand that maintains sole control over what they would like to do with their product.
Eh I guess everyone has different taste...that's normal, but I would atleast know the full history behind something before you can state for a fact that it has not done the iconic justice to the brand..when it fact the whole core was to honor the name itself
