Who made Michelle Obama's inauguration shoes?
Ok, I know you have been blinded by the gold of Michelle Obama's inauguration outfit by one of her fave designers Isabel Toledo. The pale-gold embossed coat had a matching shift dress with a blingy geometric, diamanté neckline.
But how about the shoes? Carrie Bradshaw alert. She was wearing Jimmy Choos 'Glacier' leather pumps in a striking shade of green, according to the Telegraph in the U.K . They are $695 on dsw.com.
So what do you thnk of the outfit? And is Michelle the "New Jackie Kennedy" or not? I agree with fellow blogger Kathy. She's tall and attractive but she isn't Jackie. Come on, let's start a discussion.

I'm with you Charlyne! I'd really like to hear from our readers. We have a poll on sun-sentinel.com, but it only gives us three choices: yes, I like it, it's a bad color, or no I didn't like it. Tell us what you really think! I for one prefer Jill Biden's red coat and black boots. She gets my vote.

I don't give a rat's butt who made her stupid shoes.
Considering we are in financial melt down as a country it would be best to report something significant.
Next question.

Homer, if you are so concerned about the financial crisis, you should be reading the financial section of the paper. Clearly the shopping column is not for you. I adore the green shoes.

If you're a DSW rewards member (which is free to join) the shoe is far, far, less expensive on DSW.com

Considering how many people are unemployed and the economic crisis we are facing, I find it amazing that Michelle Ombama needs $695 shoes! The president and his wife should set a good example and live conservatively.

I thought Michelle looked stunning in all of her Inaugural outfits. I don't think she's the "new Jackie Kennedy." I think she's holding her own as the new modern day Michelle Obama.

I can say that for the first time in my life I'm REALLY proud of Michelle Obama's cobbler!

Thanks everyone for getting the discussion started. Amen, this is a shopping blog. And we do need some diversion from the bad things that are going on in the world and the economy!
Maybe Michelle got her shoes at DSW with the discount Marge mentioned. Thanks, Marge, tell us if you know of any other specials.

I am aware that two hunched back and severly deformed Korean women in Seoul made those shoes couture and fitted as was specified by Oprah..Yeah. Koreans for the shoes, Egyptians for the linens

michelle is a beautiful women and definitely knows how to dress but i was very disappointed in her choice including her gown at the ball....i dont think gold is her color and both dresses looked like curtins and bedspreads. anyway i am sure she didnt want to out shine her husband because it was his day!

I thought the First Lady looked spectacular and that Jill Biden was dressed like a thirty year old not a 57 year old. She looked a bit foolish in a dress that was too short! I also think Michelle Obama will be her own person and set her own style not copy Mrs Kennedy.

She is an attractive woman but she NEEDS a stylist. If she has one, she should FIRE THEM! Her problems are she is tall (she looks ridiculous in low heel shoes) and has big hips. She needs to focus (like we all do) on hiding her problem areas. I give her two months and we will see a new woman. I totally agree with Jay, curtains and bedspreads.

Walks like a bowling ball is between her legs.
She'll get it right. Just needs time.

I think the first lady is very statuesque, very lady like.I think they make a striking couple given time, she will be more fashion conscious. If not does it really matter? How tall is she?and how tall is President Obama?

Actually I liked the daytime suit -- at first it appeared to be gold & sparkly til you looked closely. It's a refreshing color change from the "power" red and navy! And although she does have a nice tall figure, that white evening dress doesn't do anyone with hips any favors!

Love your comments, folks.
FYI Doris: Michelle is 5 feet 11 inches tall.
He is 6 feet 1 1/2 inches tall.

presidential swearing in may be a historic, solemn occasion. But this is the U.S., which means that a lot of people are trying to make a buck off the day.
