Printable coupons for $1 off Kelloggs cereal, Kashi, Fresh Express and more

kelloggs.gifI mentioned the California Pizza Kitchen coupon, and figured you would find the cereal coupons when you clicked on the site. Then I realized not everyone will click for pizza, and I don't want you to miss these other great deals.

Click here for coupons on Kelloggs cereal, Kashi, Fresh Express and more. Print two while they are available, use your back button, they change frequently. And get more from the Kelloggs website.

Remember to use coupons when the items are on sale, or better still, use two when they are BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free.) If you are a strategic shopper, you won't pay over $2 for a box of cereal, EVER! Here's a deal coming from Target, buy 5 Special K items, get a $5 Target gift card, using 5 of these coupons the cereal will be $.39 per box. Read all about it here at Money Saving Mom.

Target printable coupon: $1 off apples, and more Target sales

Strawberry season was fun with the great sales a few weeks ago, wasn't it? We can save so much with coupons and BOGOs, but not with fruit. Have you noticed how small the $3 blueberry containers are lately?

There's some good news for fruit lovers this week on the coupon front. Super Target has a printable coupon for $1 off bulk apples, and apples are on sale there this week for .99/lb. I bought 2 2-pound bags of red and green apples that came to $1 a bag. Deal Seeking Mom suggests buying 1 pound bags and getting them free.

Deal Seeking Mom had some other Target coupon combos on her website, adding up to lots of savings there this week. To have a look, click here.

Michelle Obama clothing controversy: Sneakers at food bank

michelle-obama-sneakers-240tp043009.jpg

Michelle Obama is making headlines, or should we say bloglines, about her choice of shoes.

This time stylelist.com has "outed" the First Lady on Sneakergate. The Web site says Obama was wearing a pair of $540 sneakers by Lanvin when she volunteered to fill bags with non-perishable food at the Capitol Area Food Bank for Feeding America.

So here's the controversy: Should the First Lady wear such pricey footwear in this case? Or should the press and the bloggers give her a rest already?

Weigh in. We want to know what you think.

Printable coupon: Save $2 off California Pizza Kitchen pizza

cpkpizza.gifDo you remember the first time you went to California Pizza Kitchen...when they first opened down here? I went in alone, sat at the counter and asked the chef, "What's that one?" every time he delivered a new order. I still go there, sit at the counter, but now I order half a salad instead of a pizza. Like Emily in The Devil Wears Prada, "I don't do carbs." (Right!)

If you 'do' carbs, you'll be happy to know there's a printable coupon for $2 off Califonia Pizza Kitchen pizzas from your grocer. Click here for coupon. Print two while they are available, they change frequently.

Double coupons at Kmart, starts Sunday May 3rd thru the 9th. The brochure in Sunday's paper says up to .75, but we've gotten word that's a misprint. Calls to Kmart do not get answers, it seems the Kmart employees are the last to know about these promotions.

Shoppers, please post in the comments during the week as you discover which locations are doubling. Last time I didn't hear about any that weren't, did you?

Okay strategic shoppers...tell us what coupons will be good to use this week at Kmart. Here are some suggested savings scenarios from HotCouponWorld. Please add yours in the comments section below.

Crate & Barrel has some affordable ideas for Mother's Day, especially if your mom lives in another state like mine.

This Flora teapot is only $6.95 and morning tea mugs $4.95, for example. My mother's a big fan of tea and everytime I go home, I give up my Starbucks for a cup of tea in my mom's kitchen. Nothing makes you feel more like you're home.

Bargain shoes: Save big bucks at Ann Taylor

These days many of us don't want to buy anything that will look dated or too trendy, but when the price is right it is far less of a gamble.

I just love the Petra Peeptoe Cut-Out Wedge in patent leather. Check out the stylish cut-out wrapped wedge heel. It has a ridged leather sole and 3 1/4-inch heel.

The original price was $129. Most folks see the $39.99 on the Website, but if you enter the code FRIENDS at checkout, you can get them for only $27.99. To order, Click here.

The Coupon Queen gets $66 in groceries for $12 in Publix

I'm getting anxious because a lot of my coupons are expiring on 4/30. So I went shopping! Have I truly lost it?

The grandkids love Crustables, the frozen PB&J sandwiches, usually $2.79 a box, on sale at Publix for $2, the .55 coupon expires 4/30. Now, I know, I'm nuts to pay even $1.50 for 4 PB&Js, but for some reason they like them better than the ones we make. Go figure!

Thanks to Andrea's reminder, I bought 4 of the StarKist SeaSations, frozen fish entrees, which are BOGO thru Wednesday, and with 4 $3 off coupons, FREE! Has anyone tried them...are they edible? There were 4 flavors, is one better than the others?

Fresh Express Salad Mixes are on sale for $2.50, and there's a $1 off coupon in the yellow Publix flyer at the front of the store.

My favorite Ocean Spray Cranberry 100% Juice, is BOGO use two $1 coupons. I know we've had reports of folks having trouble with this coupon. Sorry. I used it tonight again. I find if you just buy a few they will take it. The day I tried to buy 8 bottles at one time, they wouldn't.

So, in a nutshell, I got $66 worth of groceries for $12. When I checked out, the sweet cashier said, "You are the Coupon Queen of the night." If she only knew!

Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons can save big

Once again I learned the importance of saving the newspaper and mailer coupons from Bed, Bath & Beyond.

This weekend my husband, Carter, and I went to BBB in Delray Beach with a fistfull of coupons. We bought two bathroom rugs and a new shower head and saved $29!
showerhead.jpg

What is great about the folks at BBB is the following:

The salesclerk will figure out which of your coupons -- 20 percent off, $10 off or $5 off -- gives you the best deal.

They will accept out-of-date coupons.

And, if you buy more stuff than coupons, you can bring the sales recipet and the coupon back and you will get the discount.

Blue Bell Ice Cream on sale at Albertsons

bluebell1.jpgEver since we wrote about Blue Bell Ice Cream in the Sun Sentinel, I've been wanting to try it. Now that I'm couponing, it's hard to pay $5.98 for a half gallon of ice cream when I can get sales and BOGOs on other brands.

So I have avoided buying it, until tonight. I was getting other things in Albertsons, walked by the ice cream freezer, which of course they put right near the check-out line, and lo and behold, a Blue Bell sale! Sale lasts thru Tuesday, April 28th.

No coupons, but it was 2 half gallons for $7, enough savings to get me to cheat again on the old diet. Was it worth it? I have to say yes, the ice cream is very creamy and the Pralines were sooooo crunchy. Mmmmm...I might have to try the Cookies and Cream next. Super Saver Kathy

This is a good week to go to Publix with your coupon stash. Remember, strategic shoppers, you can use two coupons with buy-one-get-one-free items.

Maybe it's just because some of my favorite items are on the BOGO list. Always the mother, I told my grown daughter I would help her with groceries if she finished school, so I am buying for a family of 6. (The good news, she finished Friday, now maybe a job is in her future.)

The kids love Post Honey Bunches of Oats, Pop-tarts, Teddy Grahams, Cheez-its and Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice printable coupon, new exp date 5/22), which are all BOGO this week.

We found some printable coupons to share with you. Click here for $1 off Colgate Total and $1.50 off Huggies, and more. The first time you use this coupon site, you have to download a coupon printer. It's best to just select one coupon, go to print it, and you will be walked through downloading the printer. You may have to restart your computer after the download to get the printer to work.

A strategic shopper does not use the coupon on a retail item. There's more to it than that, wait until there is a BOGO (buy-one-get-one-free) use two coupons and get the toothpaste for free. CVS has a BOGO on Colgate Total this week, not exactly this one though. We'll keep looking.

Freebies: Free Mothers Day card from Kodak

We saw it in one of our sister papers, the Orlando Sentinel, that KODAK Gallery (www.kodakgallery.com) is giving away one million free personalized Photo Cards* as part of Mom-a-Thon 2009.

Simply visit www.kodakgallery.com/freephotocard, create a one-of-a-kind personalized printed Photo Card featuring a photo and message and share it with someone you love on Mother’s Day.

Although the card (which normally sells for $2.49) is free, there will be a shipping charge. As usual, the free online stuff is never free, but you'd pay a couple bucks for an impersonal card from Hallmark, this one will be from your heart.

Coupon Chaos Tuesday: Enter to win free coupons from Shop-O-Matic

coupons1.JPGWelcome to Coupon Chaos Tuesday. If you share your best money saving shopping tips in this post, which starts new each Tuesday, you are entered to win free coupons from Shop-O-Matic.

Couponing is a real science, it's not just 30 cents off an item. It's combining 2 coupons with a buy-one-get-one-free deal, and getting the $4 item for $1. Or if you are really good at it, free!

We had some good tips last week. Our winner is Holly, with her great tips from Albertsons. I am a spoiled couponer...I rely so much on the shopping websites with their sale lists and coupon match-ups. I haven't learned a good site for our Florida Albertsons yet. Anyone know of one? Let's make Coupon Chaos the go-to place to learn of these deals!

We had a great post last week from Andrea, suggesting we have a coupon meet-up to share ideas and trade coupons. What do you think? We'd love to meet our readers.

Let's hear your weekly shopping tips. Where are the best deals?

Free 60-day shopping pass to BJ's Wholesale Club

I've been a member of Costco for years, and enjoy the benefits of shopping at a wholesale club. I used to drive out there when I was in the mood for flowers, they have beautiful roses, but I haven't done that since I've been saving for my hurricane windows. Don't you just hate budgeting?!

Now that I have embraced couponing, I am considering switching to BJ's. BJ's accepts all manufacturer's coupons, Costco does not. With this free 60-day shopping pass, you can be sure I'm going to give it a try! Pass must be activated by July 6, 2009. Click here to print pass.

Let's get a discussion going: BJ's, Sam's or Costco? Discuss the pros and cons, we'd love to hear what you think? Where are the best deals? Are they worth the membership fee?

Penguin goes fish shopping for the family

We haven't posted a shopping video in a long time, but I know we all need a good chuckle during these grim times.

Check out Lala, a 14-year-old King penguin who was rescued from a fisherman's line 10 years ago in Japan. When she was healed, she refused to leave.

Watch her go fish shopping with her penguin backpack. It's a hoot.

Consumer Beware: Don't waste money on impatiens, vegetable plants

veggie.jpg

We may not have extra money to buy a lot of personal things these days, but there also seems to be enough left in the budget to buy a plant or two. They make us feel good without costing a lot.

This weekend I went to Lowe's in Boynton Beach to buy a few plants and was horrified at what I saw -- a prominent display right in front of the garden center promoting vegetable gardening. And, yes, and they are also still selling impatiens.

Not a bad promotion, if you are selling plants in North Carolina or New Jersey, where the vegetable growing season is just beginning and impatiens flourish now. But we plant our veggies and impatiens in October/November because the heat kills them by April.

This is why smart shoppers have to be careful about shopping at national chains for garden supplies. If you are new to South Florida or don't know what you are doing in the garden, go to a nursery where the folks are trained in Florida gardening. Otherwise, you waste your money.

The problem with the national stores is they have central buying offices, which do not take regional differences into account. What can you do? When you see this kind of thing, complain to the local store and the national headquarters.

Get SanDisk 1GB media card for $5 at Walgreens

I recently took a picture of blogging buddy 'Bargain Hunter Marcia' for her Facebook and Twitter accounts. We found a spot with good light so I said let's just keep shooting until we get a good one.

Well, her camera was loaded with precious pictures of her trip to Europe with her son, as well as other sentimental journeys. She had to find some to delete so we could keep shooting.

Here it is Marcia! A 1GB card, at Walgreens, of all places, for $10, but get $5 in Register Rewards, like cash at Walgreens, making the card $5. Offer good all week, through April 18th.

Only one to a customer, but of course, you can just stop at the next Walgreens and buy another one. Don't try to roll your Register Rewards on a second card, you won't get the rewards if you pay with rewards...there's a lot to learn in Walgreens 101.

Walgreens deals of the week April 12-18th

Strategic shoppers are going to have a big week in Walgreens this week. If you are into using your manufacturer's coupons when things are on sale, you can save big.

There are so many websites that help us strategic shop, it's almost mindless these days. No more fumbling around with little clippings. Just print your sale list (one for each retail store) from your favorite strategic shipping website and clip the coupons from your files, which should be carefully put away by publication date. I use couponmom.com for my lists, but I also scope out others for saving scenarios.

I made a quick stop yesterday on my way home from dinner at Mom's. Not a big shopping spree, just stocked up on a few buy-one-get-one free Lysol cleaning products. Combined with coupons, they were soooo cheap!

Check out the Walgreens deals on MoneySavingMom. com.

TravelSmith dress on sale for $69

Travelsmith%20dress.jpg

I was chatting with friends yesterday evening about traveling. Oh, how I love to travel. I have wonderful memories of trips with my son and friends to Spain, France, Italy and England.

If you're planning a trip this spring or summer, one necessity for the suitcase is a basic travel dress. This is the dress that you can roll up and it doesn't wrinkle. It looks good for the leisurely walk around town in an afternoon as well as for dinner in the evening, dressed up with a scarf or jewelry.

TravelSmith is a great source for such clothing and it's travel dress is marked down from regular $79 to $69. Color choices include black, garnet, poppy red, sage, french roast (brown) and midnight navy. Hey, go crazy, and buy two. And send me a postcard. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

Southwest to fly to LaGuardia, $99 one way

southwest.gif

It figures. Just as my son gets ready to graduate from college in New York, Southwest Airlines announced $99 fares from Fort Lauderdale into LaGuardia Airport.

Southwest begins flying into LaGuardia on June 28, but book now if you're planning a trip this summer. Southwest fares go fast.

Southwest already flew into the airport on Long Island, but that is just a hassle if you're going into the city. LaGuardia is the preferred airport for my trips to Manhattan.

The airline, known for its service, will be taking on JetBlue Airways, which is usually the airline I take to the Big Apple, and the Miramar-based Spirit Airlines. Competition is always good for consumers. Let the flying begin! -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

Crate & Barrel: Good buy on wine glasses

EliteWineSuiteS9.jpg

Our everyday wine glasses were looking pretty shabby because of the residue collected from the old dishwasher. We had been fighting it, but it was time to buy new.

The inspiration came in the mail with the new Crate & Barrel "Best Buys" catalog. Carter went to Crate & Barrel in Boca Town Center and bought six of the Elite burgundy glasses each just in time for my cousin, Barry, to come for dinner last weekend. They are made in Slovakia and look like they cost more than $5.99 a glass.

They worked beautifully, highlighting the nose of the French red wine (2003 Chateau de Bordeaux) that he brought. But, unfortunately, when Barry was helping me bring the dishes to the kitchen he knocked one of the glasses to the tile floor. The shattered glass flew everywhere. No problem. it was only $5.99 a glass, not $50 a glass.

One other thought: Carter learned a trick for removing price tags from the salesman. Turn the glass upsidedown, squirt the label thoroughly with glass cleaner and allow to sit 30 minutes. The labels will slip off with a touch of your finger and leave no glue residue.

P.S. If you spend $250 or more through May 31 at Crate & Barrel, you can get 15 percent off your next shopping trip. Click for details.

Sun Sentinel Sunday coupons in advance - April 5th

(Added Sunday: There was an extra Smart Source in my paper this morning that I wasn't told about in advance. So there were 4 inserts in the paper, Sunday April 5th. Great news for our readers.)

From now on....check Shop-O-Matic on Fridays to see which coupons will be in Sunday's paper. By the way, there won't be any coupons next weekend, so don't look for our list next week. And let me know if this will be useful to you, please. It took lots of my precious time, so you'd better let me know it's worthwhile.

I'd hog the whole Shop-O-Matic space listing them out front, there are a lot this week, so click on the links to see the lists. The biggest news in Smart Source is the repeat performance of the $5 off Science Diet, for all you dog lovers. Then there's the old favorites: Pampers, Olay, Gillette. Which coupons do you look forward to?

Click here for Smart Source. Here for Red Plum, and here for P&G.

Remember that a strategic shopper waits to use a coupon with a sale or BOGO (buy-one-get-one) offer, when you can use two. Ask a neighbor for their inserts, or get two Sunday papers, so you will be ready for the deals!

My fellow shopping blogger Kathy Haines and I were extras in the movie, you see, so it is our first chance to pick out the "background artists." I was anxious also to see the deleted scenes and gag reel. The gag reel is the best, especially a hilarious comment by actress Kathleen Turner, who played the dog trainer in the movie.

So if you're Marley fan (and you should be. After all, the writer of the book John Grogan once was the Sun Sentinel's Palm Beach County columnist), where do you buy the DVD?

Target is the winner so far, with a price of $16.99 for the single disc version. I paid $19.99 at Publix, silly me. Target also has a 2-disc "Bad Dog" version for $22.99 and a Blu-Ray disc package for $26.99.

Wal-Mart prices has an exclusive: the single disc version with a photo book for $19.96, if you're really a Marley fan or you just want photos of Owen Wilson or Jennifer Aniston.

For couch potatoes, there's Amazon.com, which offers the single disc for $16.99 with free shipping.

Incidentally, I'm typing this at the very desk I sit in during the Sun Sentinel newsroom scene. Unfortunately, Owen is no longer sitting next to me. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds
