Coupon Chaos Tuesday: Enter to win free coupons from Shop-O-Matic
Welcome to Coupon Chaos Tuesday. If you share your best money saving shopping tips in this post, which starts new each Tuesday, you are entered to win free coupons from Shop-O-Matic.
Couponing is a real science, it's not just 30 cents off an item. It's combining 2 coupons with a buy-one-get-one-free deal, and getting the $4 item for $1. Or if you are really good at it, free!
We had some good tips last week. Our winner is Holly, with her great tips from Albertsons. I am a spoiled couponer...I rely so much on the shopping websites with their sale lists and coupon match-ups. I haven't learned a good site for our Florida Albertsons yet. Anyone know of one? Let's make Coupon Chaos the go-to place to learn of these deals!
We had a great post last week from Andrea, suggesting we have a coupon meet-up to share ideas and trade coupons. What do you think? We'd love to meet our readers.

Let's hear your weekly shopping tips. Where are the best deals?

Office Depot + Art Supplies!
I just went there over lunch, and they are getting rid of lots of art supplies. Prismacolor! Sketch Books! Watercolor pencils!
If you are doing any scrapbooking or other art related activities, be sure to get there fast!
There was one set left of artist markers where I stopped... good luck!

Target is really clearing out the easter candy quick this year. Download one of the $1.00 off Bliss candy coupons from their website (or go to afullcup.com) and double up with the manufacturers coupon for $2 off total. Sorry, I don't have my coupons with me at work to see which week had the candy coupons but should have been in mid March.
Happy Shopping!

YAYYY! You guys are great. I might check out Office Depot on my way home, the kids would love some new art supplies. And the Target coupon is a great suggestion, I get some great deals there when I can use 2 coupons. Has anyone else had trouble using printed coupons at Target? Not fun!!

at Target - if they can't scan the IPs they can usually scan them with the hand gun....
:)

Hey Kathy, Target is very picky on using internet printed coupons and sometimes even their own. I actually walked over to the little gift registry computers and printed the coupon to show the customer service gal that it came from their own website. Grrr. I keep calling the customer service number but get someone named Bob who is reading from a script. Drives me batty to not get an answer on the policy.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this - but kmart is doing super doubles next week (4/19-4/25). I looked at the front of the circular on kmart.com and put in my zip - 33433. this is the store in boca on palmetto park and I-95
they double coupons up to $2!! (so a $2 coupon is really a $4 coupon!!) - I got SO much free stuff last time they did this, which was in January.
they have a limit of 25 coupons per person per day and 4 of each like coupon. Supposedly they now accept IPs, though they did not last time...

I know it isn't Tuesday any more, but it's too good to wait:
Optical Dept at BJ's: Kids glasses complete $58 with polycarbonate lenses!
Also, glasses with progressive lens, complete for only $128 (I don't think all the frames qualify, but they can tell you!)
FYI you can go in to the optical dept. at BJ's without a membership.
These deals are tooo good to miss. I'm going to get my DH to get a 2nd pair...
I think the offer only goes through the end of April so hurry!

All of you are repeat posters...it's a treat to see you coming back. Sometimes we feel like we are blogging to cy-blivion. I just made that word up, a combo of cyberspace and oblivion. Doesn't really work, does it? Anyway, we appreciate your input and hope you stick with us while we try to build Shop-O-Matic into the 'go-to' shopping site for South Florida. Charlyne, Marcia and I all have other full time responsibilities at the Sun-Sentinel, but we love doing this blog.

Trish, great comment about the glasses deal at BJs. I'm well overdue for a check up and new prescription, maybe I can squeeze one in before the offer is over. Love those progressive lenses!! Who wants to wear grannie bifocals?

Marcia referred to me as super saver Kathy in one of her posts, so I decided to keep it. We have another Kathy that visits occasionally, that could be confusing. I came back to respond to Jan, about the Grrrr moments in Target. Apparently Target was ripped off in a big printed coupon fraud, so they are paranoid about taking coupons printed off the Internet. I had a meeting with them one day, because the clerk wouldn't accept their own Target Web coupons. Because I write about shopping, I had to get the manager, assistant manager and a few sales folks together to get to the bottom of it. During our meeting the managers decided they were going to give the cashiers printed pages of the Target coupons, so they would know to accept those, but no other printed coupons. Since then, ever persistent, I have had cashiers take other printed coupons, but honestly, it's easier to shop elsewhere. It has to be a great sale for me to make the drive to Target anymore. You know, like the 19 cent Goldfish or the 25 cent Motts apple sauce 6- packs.

Oh, and Trish, I hope I haven't confused the issue by calling the coupon contest 'Coupon Chaos Tuesday.' You can post all week long. I only call it that because it starts every Tuesday and runs thru the following Tuesday. Maybe I'll just call it Coupon Chaos. Or Shop-O-Matic Coupon Chaos. Decisions, decisions.

I get new posts in my RSS feed, but not new comments LOL
anyway...
I have never had a problem with target taking IPs - I live in boca and go to the targets in boca, boynton & lantana. the only problem I have is that sometimes they don't scan. when that happens the cashier uses the hand gun & they scan fine like that.
I also only go for great deals though usually... we do use their pharmacy b/c they keep giving away $10 gift cards LOL... so that's what keeps me coming back. plus if you use their "red card" after 10 prescriptions they mail you a 10% off everything in the store for 1 day shopping pass....
