Thanks for your entries. We had some great tips: how to get 3 cereals and a gallon of milk for $3 from Jan, a frozen yogurt rebate from Ashley, and a nice Target shopping/savings scenario from Nan. Nan is the winner of the coupons this week!

YAY! I just found some GREAT deals at Wetseal.com! They have tons of clearance items on sale starting at .99 but that's not the best part! At checkout they are taking off another 30% each item. Wet Seal is for tweens to 20's. I scored 3 headbands, 2 hair clips, 2 pairs of knee highs, 1 shirt, and 1 scarf for $16.29 total! Use the promo code FREE09 for free shipping on $15.00 or more. This works on $15.00 BEFORE they take off the extra 30%!. Start shopping!

I am new to this but want to save money at places like Publix, Target, Wal-Mart, etc. I see people all the time with these great coupons that are nowhere in the Sunday paper. Any ideas for a newcomer?

Welcome LB. Yes, couponing is catching on, folks are learning how to cut their grocery bills in half, one great way to improve the household budget. We can't control the mortgage or car payment, but we can control our grocery bills. If you tried to start last weekend, then you are right, there were no coupons in the paper because of the holiday. They are usually there on Sundays. A good way to get started would be to go to couponmom.com and download her free book about strategic shopping. You have to navigate thru a very annoying questionaire, but bear with it, it's worth it, just keep clicking on skip this. The site is free once you get thru the survey which you only have to do your first time. When planning my grocery list, I don't have the patience to compare store flyers with my coupons, so I let couponmom do it for me. Your homework is to read the booklet and get back to us with your thoughts. Okay?
