Flip video fun, inexpensive gadget

Flip%20video.jpg

I recently attended my son's college graduation -- a big day for him and the family -- and I wanted to capture it on more than my digital camera.

My friend H. recommended the Flip video. After weighing whether I should buy the basic version then on sale at Best Buy for $99 (regularly $149) or the upgraded HD version, I'm glad I stuck with the basic.

You get an hour of memory-card-free video on the basic Flip, and two hours on the HD version, which also works best on high-definition TVs.

I took plenty of video: my relatives, my son's graduation march, an interview with him afterwards and about his thesis project. And I only used a half hour!

This is a fun video camera that's easy to use, affordable and a different way to capture those special moments or make a YouTube video.

Do you have a Flip or other video? Would you recommend it, or not? -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds
