$300 laptop at Staples
Staples is advertising an Acer laptop for $299. It's a good price, but is it a good deal? I'm not sure.
Check its memory, battery power and weight. Give it a test run at a Staples store, trying the keyboard and screen. Compare it to other laptop choices and consider how you want to use it.
There are lots of articles and guides online about buying a laptop. Here's one from WashingtonPost.com: http://bit.ly/Qp3hM

I didn't see it listed anywhere on Staples. I do know that Circuit City has one and I believe today is the last day to take advantage.
I ordered one from Circuit City, I think it's one heckuva deal. A laptop under $300? Last year at Christmas. you had to wait in line for 5 hours for your slim to none chance to get one.
I don't care if it's refurbished, it still has a 1 year warranty. I'll probably void the warranty anyway, as I'm going to clone my desktop to it.
3 gigs of RAM and a processor that can run 64bit. You can't buy a netbook for this.

According to the manager at Pine Island and Sunrise, the ad was retracted because the special is only in certain areas - S. Florida excluded.
Told the manager it was a great way to introduce themselves to the area, and frankly he could have cared less.
Circuit City is a definite, but I'm pretty sure today is the last day.
