Staples apologizes: Acer notebook not available
Sorry folks! Staples sent out an e-mail today saying its previous e-mail and weekly ad featuring a $300 Acer notebook is "not available in your area."
Does that mean all of South Florida? Hard to say.
The Staples e-mail says to check out its other great deals. Hmmm...do I smell a bait and switch?
Let Shop-o-matic know if you find this $300 Acer notebook anywhere. I don't see it online, either. -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

Sounds like bait and switch to me...I just got this email ad from Staples at 11:47 today. Subject line 'Psst...a laptop for under $300.' Wonder why they are still sending it out if it was a mistake?

I received that email. When I saw the listed laptop I forward it to a friend who is in the market.
When I called her later on Friday (after I saw the "correction") she was not very happy with Staples. The rep she spoke to at their store tried to tell her they were out of that model (Friday morning) and offered her a choice of other laptops (which were all a lot more expensive).
This sounds a lot like the old "bait and switch" game to me too!!!
