Beating the department store price
Spent Sunday shopping with my friend E. who needed a dress for an event, something she could take from event to after-party.
We started at Macy's at the Broward Mall, to check out its Labor Day sales and she was pleased to find a teal Evan Piccone dress that looked fantastic on her. She bought it and then we went to check out the nearby Ross Dress for Less.
At Ross, we were shocked to find the same dress, only in red, for $50 less! The teal version also was there, though a halter design, for the same price.
We're not talking a $10 difference, but $50! My outraged friend is returning the over-priced dress to Macy's.
Just a reminder that it always pays to shop around, especially the discount stores like Ross and Marshall's. Do you have similar stories? -- Marcia "Bargain Hunter" Pounds

I prefer to shop the sales. I recently got a purse that Dillard's had for $89 at Macy's for $44.50 because I waited for a sale. Ross and Marshalls and TJ Maxx are great if you have the patience to sift through 100s of items that are in the wrong spot and not the right size, but it's usually more hassle to me than it's worth. If there is a discount store in Broward that is better organized, I would love to hear about it because I haven't found one yet.
