It's the season when green markets blossom: Delray Beach and Boca Raton will kick off their bounties of fresh produce, baked goods, and gourmet items this month.

Boca Raton's 13th annual GreenMarket will open Saturday with an Italian Fest theme to commemorate Columbus Day and will include local restaurant tastings, kiddie crafts and a concert by Five Boroughs. The market will be set up on the southwest corner of Royal Palm Place at South Federal Highway and South Mizner Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The season runs Saturdays through May 8.

For more information on the Boca Raton GreenMarket call 561-368-6875 or 561-239-1536.

The Delray Beach 14th annual GreenMarket begins on Oct. 31 and will celebrate Halloween with trick or treating and apple bobbing. There will be live musical entertainment each Saturday through the end of the season May 15. The market operates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Delray's GreenMarket has relocated to the first block of Southeast Fourth Avenue, between Atlantic Avenue and Southeast First Street. For more information or to inquire about becoming a vendor, e-mail greenmarket@delraycra.org.
