Coupon Chaos: Enter to win free coupons from Shop-O-Matic

coupons1.JPGI usually get Coupon Chaos posted first thing Tuesday morning, but I'm late today, still basking in the afterglow of free Tylenol at Publix. Thanks Andrea, for that suggestion. And to DP for asking if anyone else gets a "high" from seeing a huge savings on their cash register receipt. (Only a fellow couponer would understand.) KCK, you have outdone yourself this week, so many good suggestions! Thanks to all of you, and all our readers who let us know you are out there.

I'm way behind in mailing prizes, so why don't all three of you send your addresses. I'll get some in the mail to you. Everyone else, post your best savings tips here, you may be the winner next week.

P.S. The free Tylenol at Publix is good through Wed. Use the $3 coupon from the Publix "Fall Savings" insert with the $1 manufacturers coupon from the 11/8 Red Plum. Buy the Tylenol that's on sale for $3.99, and voila...FREE!

Whoo hoo!!! Thanks, Kathy!!!

Ok-Don't mean to be ignorant, but how do I send you my address?

DP- I emailed you my email address. You should have it now.

Warning...the Publix on East Sunrise Blvd gave me a hard time about picking up the free Tylenol tonight. Their issue was the 1 penny overage. Tylenol = $3.99, Coupons = $4.

Good thing there is a Publix in every neighborhood, I just stopped at the next one on my way home.

It is hard to beleive a cashier was paying that close attention. I used to work at Publix for many years, and the only thing I can think of is some manager sent an email around. The shelves are getting wiped out! :)

Thanks again Kathy

Kathy-

I just checked me email and did not see an email from you, I also checked my spam...

oops s/b "my" Arggg mateys! :)

There is a $2.00 Tylenol PM on the Tylenol calender.

I always buy at least one thing I need just to cover the overage... since you're already going to have the manager cause you need the override for too many coupons. One less hassle anyway.

If you see the Winter Savings booklet (it's been in a freestanding display) grab a few, there are some really good coupons in it.

Couple of free/almost free I've already found.

BOGO Scotch tape at Walgreens this week, use the $1 coupon from the Winter Savings booklet. It has a tiny "redeem at Publix", but it is an MQ and the Publix logo is small, so no hassles yet (for me anyway).

Red Plum 10/11 $10 off 3 Advantage products. A bunch of $2 Publix coupons in the Winter Savings to combine with.

Found a 12 count Phazyme for $3.29. This is over a $6 MM for your next Publix order. $10 plus $6 in coupons for products that total $9.87.

Contact(24 count) almost free. They are around $5.50, so it's about 17 cents out of pocket for 3 boxes.

One of my best savings tip is to ask the store managers if they accept expired coupons. I hate it when I forget about an awesome coupon I had and it expires, or if one expires a few days before a certain store has an amazing sale. But I found out that some stores are more than happy to accept expired coupons, but since many of the cashiers do not know that, all you have to do is ask the managers! This can come in handy, especially for the stores that offer coupon stacking with manuf. as well as store specific ones.

And, if all else fails and you cannot use those expired coupons, for heaven's sake don't throw them away! Stores on military bases accept coupons for months after they expire, so there are many organizations that send expired coupons to on-base military families, or ones that can make it to a base to do some shopping. IF you can't use them, why not help someone else out?

Have fun couponing!

Kathy, that Publix on E. Sunrise ALWAYS gives me a difficult time. I usually avoid it as the morning cashier is just not pleasant and gives me a hard time on the buy one get one free and then using 2 coupons.

My deal of the week/month: $3 off Publix coupon and then $2 off manufacturer coupon on the Zantac 150. Buy the 8ct and you get 21 cents overage. Hubby is thrilled as he ususally uses the 75 and he can cut these in half :)
