I've never ever done it either Kate...
my dh is off that day for the first time in forever (he's a restaurant manager) and he wants to go. He's definitely on his own.
I will however help him make a list LOL

I went out at a ridiculous time one Black Friday to a store next to Micheal's craft store. I waited and waited, quickly realizing I was a total fool for doing so.
Micheal's opened up with little fanfare, so I gave up my space in line and walked over. It was wonderful...kids gifts galore, no lines, great deals.
It is now my only destination. I do get up early, but after I hit Micheals, it's Starbucks and home. No malls, no Best Buy for $5.00 computers, just home.
I recommend it!
