Coupon Chaos: Share your best savings tips with other strategic shoppers

coupons1.JPGWelcome to Coupon Chaos! This is where we post our best savings tips, below in the comments, to share with other Shop-O-Matic readers.

I got hooked on coupons years ago when a friend told me her daughter was shopping with coupons using the Coupon Mom website for reference.Of course, I had to have a look. Wow! Was I impressed. After hearing her method of filing the Sunday coupon inserts intact by date, I was hooked. I don't like to clip and file!

Once I was hooked I started looking for other coupon sites. There are so many great sites out there, and they all have interesting savings scenarios.

This week, let's share our favorites with each other. I'll compile a list for our reference and include it on the bottom of Coupon Chaos as you suggest them. Also, don't forget about your savings tips. Leave those below as well!;;;;

Free Olay Body Lotion with rebate

Here's a deal that's hard to pass up! Buy Olay Quench body lotion...send in your receipt for a rebate, making the body lotion free. Just be careful to hang on to your receipt. How many times have you lost the receipt or the rebate form, only to find it the day after the deadline for mailing?

Good news for bargain hunters — the coupon craze continues to snowball. Nightline did a piece on "Extreme couponing" that gives a nice intro to how to maximize your coupon use. It also featured a great couponing site that you may not know about, In a quick stroll around weusecoupons, we picked up some great tips for newbies and experienced couponers, and the database is top-notch.

$10 off $49 shoes at DSW

I have spring shoe fever! DSW is offering this cute Jacques sandal by Jones New York in spring colors at $10 off $49 with code SAVE 326 at

With the same code, get $15 off $79 shoes and $20 off $99 shoes.

Unless you know what fits and feels comfortable, I would suggest tryiing on the shoe at a DSW store and then buying them online to get the savings -- if you can wait. You also have to weigh the shipping costs to see whether it's worth the online discount.

Coupon Chaos: Enter your best savings tips to win free coupons

coupons1.JPGWelcome to Coupon Chaos where we share strategic shopping ideas with each other....the Sun Sentinel's savings community.

It's been awhile since a post inspired me to leave work early to jump on a good deal, but Katiria, you posted the Target Monopoly sale, which did just that. Katiria told us that Monopoly was on sale for $7, so if you used the $5 off coupon from last Sunday's paper, you got the game for $2. (Needless to say, that shelf was picked bare, but I gave it the good old college try.) Katiria, email your address to and I'll send you your coupons. Congratulations!

My best savings tip this week is the diaper deal at CVS. Buy Pampers on sale for $8.99 and get $3 in Extra Care Bucks (like cash to spend at CVS.) Combined with the $2 off coupon from the P&Gsaver, the Pampers work out to be less than $4.

Printable coupon: Up to 30% off at Coach factory stores

store_locator_us.jpgWe keep saying this economy is good to people who still have money to spend.

Here's a coupon for 30% off of $250 at the Coach factory stores. And 20% off anything less than $250. The factory stores prices are already discounted, so an extra 30% off is a big bonus.

It's tempting, but I have to save for those hurricane windows. How long have you heard me whining about many years now? I'm encouraged by the 'cash for caulkers' rebate, but usually those incentives are for single family homes. Hey Barack, don't forget, some folks live in condos, they pay taxes too!!!

Click here to print coupon. It's good through March 28th, 2010.

Coupon Chaos: Enter your best savings tips to win free coupons

coupons1.JPGIt's Tuesday, Coupon Chaos time again, time to share our best deals!

I've been to five Walgreens looking for my favorite Rimmel mascara. This week, it's 50% off, so with the $1 off coupon from the 3/7 Red Plum, the $7.99 mascara becomes $3. I like to stock up, but I guess everyone else does too, so its sold out everywhere. At these prices it's a good time to experiment. Are you due for a new look?

I remember the old days when I used to buy the $30 Estee Lauder mascara at Macy's when there was a free gift with purchase. Free gift, hah! I have a crystal bowl of tested-once lipsticks, all the free ones, purples and oranges that are hideous on me. Wouldn't that be a good theme for a girlfriends party?
