I love the treasure hunt of thrift store shopping, but my friend 'L' says she'd rather pay double than dig through the piles. What do you think? Do you have a favorite thrift store?

On East Sunrise Blvd lately, you'll see a construction site with a banner that says "Coming soon - Out of the Closet Thrift Store." The 7,000 square foot store is scheduled to open near the end of 2010, click here for details.

Then our coupon expert, Andrea, posted that she finds great camp clothes for the kids at thrift stores. Every time I drive by the Wacky Wednesday sign at the Salvation Army, I'm disappointed that I'm on my way to work and can't stop. Clothes are half price on Wednesdays.

As per usual on holiday weekends, there will not be a big stash of grocery coupons this weekend, but there's a HUGE stash of store sale flyers instead. Have a look at the weekend papers for flyers for some big Memorial Day sales!

Fellow blogger 'Bargain Hunter Marcia' let the cat out of the bag earlier this week that we are doing a fun girls night out to see the new Sex and the City movie. I vividly remember Char's postings on the blog when the first movie came out, all the rage over Carrie's new NYC apartment.

In Sex & The City 2 the girls head off for the Middle East. We're already seeing the influence in the stores, like this caftan from NY & Co. I don't generally shop trends, but this was on sale from $39.99 to $23.97 and there was a $15 off coupon floating around, so I couldn't resist.

You know how I got the coupon? At checkout the salesgirl asked me if I had any coupons...I said "No, do you have any?" What a great cashier..she's my new best friend.

Our group made a special effort to dig out some high heeled shoes: Connie wore vintage from the 1980s, Marcia "Bargain Hunter" found the center beauties on the clearance rack at her favorite store, DSW, and Bobby had fun red pumps.

Sorry the list is so late, I try to post it at midnight on Thursday, but I had a series of fiascos this week. Long story, won't bore you with it, but the happy ending is that the coupons were hidden under some mail in my kitchen, so since I couldn't find them, I thought I had forgotten them at the office. I don't work Fridays...I'd do almost anything for our readers but drive to Deerfield on my day off.

It was serious deja vu typing out the coupon list this week..lots of old favorites. When you get your new coupons, do they make you think of other deals you got with these same coupons in the past?

The Unilever coupons in the Red Plum this week remind me of a Walgreens sale where you had to buy 8 Ragus to get a really fabulous price with Register Rewards. Remember it? Try finding 8 Ragus in one Walgreens! When I finally did, they were meat flavored. EEEwwww. I have nothing against eating meat, but sitting on a shelf in a jar, no thanks.

And do Starbucks Ice Cream coupons bring back memories? These are generous too folks. $1.50 off Non-coffee flavored Starbucks ice Cream. Wait for a BOGO and use two coupons, that's worth the price of a few Sunday papers alone.

Ken Kaye over at the Storm Center says it's going to be hot and steamy through Sunday. So now's a good time to talk about sweat, or more accurately, how not to sweat.

Dry out with clinical strength antiperspirants. Costing about $10 at drugstores, these products promise the same wetness protection as prescription-only versions.

Sun Sentinel beauty testers liked Secret Clinical Strength, Dove Clinical Protection, Degree Clinical Protection for Men and Women. (Click here to sign up to get a free Secret Clinical Strength.)

Here's how they work: These antiperspirants have a higher concentration of metallic salts than regular versions. You apply them at night when your body temp is at its lowest, and while you sleep, they plug up those sweaty pores under your arms.

The International Hyperhidrosis Society, at SweatHelp.org, says many find relief with these products. According to the website: "The key is learning to use them correctly. A recent study found that applying over-the-counter antiperspirants in the morning and evening, or just in the evening, was significantly more effective than applying them in the morning alone." It's also recommended that you apply the products to completely dry skin.

If you find that the drugstore offerings don't do the trick, talk try a prescription-strength antiperspirants, such as Drysol. It contains 20 percent aluminum chloride and costs $21.98 a bottle. It really works.

Remember, the true trick is applying at night before you go to bed. No sweat.

Jodi Greenberg and Michelle Smith want to get something off their chests — and onto yours.

The two South Florida women have invented a sexy new twist in temporary tattoos. Their creation, Ta-Ta-Toos, deliver sexy messages like “Lucky You” and “Happy Anniversary” applied to your, um, cleavage. Look for one Smart Source in Sunday's paper this week, 5/16/10.

The coupon websites are going to tell you there were Huggies coupons, but we don't have diaper coupons this weekend. This granny is disappointed! But they are out there, so this is when you traders get busy or you can pick up a nice supply for a service charge on eBay.

I smiled as I typed this list, remembering some of the great deals we got in the past with some of these great coupons. For example $1 off Marzetti's dressing. Have you tried their ginger flavor? Its a new fave-flave at our house.

Now I ask you...would you clip a 20 cent coupon? I might if I am buying the item anyway, but would it get you to try a new brand?

A generous $1 off Frito-Lay variety pack, I suspect this might bring some deals. And I'm thrilled to see the $1 off Athenos Feta cheese. Can you freeze feta? I feel some Greek salads coming on.

I bought my daughter some Lean Cuisine individual size pizzas last time there was a sale/coupon combo. She said I didn't get her enough, the kids loved them, and they were small enough that there wasn't any waste. Don't let me confuse you, no Lean Cuisine coupons this week, I only thought of that because there is a generous DiGiorno pizza coupon, got to see if they have individual sizes.

Don't forget Mothers Day is Sunday May 9th. If you don't want Mom to spend all day in the kitchen, why not pick up take out from her favorite restaurant. No muss, no fuss.

My mom doesn't like going out when the restaurants are crowded, and I have to work Sunday morning, so I'm not even going to pretend I'm cooking dinner. Check out the site GoodShop.com. It’s an online mall that partners with more than 1,400 stores (1-800-Flowers, Sephora, Zales, Bloomingdales, etc.) and gives a percentage of each sale to the charity of your choice (or your Mom's favorite organization). Up to 30 percent of each purchase could go to your favorite cause.

Here’s how it works: Go to the site, choose your cause, enter the store you want to shop at, buy an item and the site donates to your cause.

There are 90,000 non-profits signed up to the site so far. According to the site, the ASPCA has earned $32,000 so far and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital has earned $11,800. Here’s a list of donations to organizations.

There are also coupons and deals of the day to make the experience even sweeter if you browse GoodSearch.com. Here’s one coupon I found from 1-800-Flowers, which will give 7 percent back to your favorite charity: 10 percent off your purchase if you use the coupon code GOODSEARCH.
