Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim melt-proof makeup
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami Beach recently was all about swimwear looks for spring/summer 2011. But the fashions models were wearing went beyond bikinis. We’re talking beauty. Many of the melt-proof products used by the pros should be put to work for us here in hot and humid South Florida.

The official makeup sponsor was Make Up For Ever, and its team of artists backstage at the Raleigh hotel were using the line’s awesome waterproof products. Here’s a roundup of what should find its way into your makeup bag, now and in 2011:
Make Up For Ever's Aqua Cream ($22) is an amazing collection of waterproof colors that can be used on eyes, lips and cheeks. The highly-pigmented formula comes in 22 shades and won’t crease or run. Pros mixed them to make custom shades. Our testers loved #21 Turquoise for eyes and #17 Plum on cheeks and lips. During the watershed event in the pool, both gals came up lookin’ like cover girls.

Big lashes were the rage on all the models and Aqua Smokey Lash Kit ($22) delivered. It will make your lashes look fat, long and full while standing up to smudges, sweat and swimming. It comes with Sens'Eyes makeup remover, too. The mascara's made with micronized iron oxide mineral pigments and testers were amazed at the depth of blackness it produced.

Miami Beach-based TINte Cosmetics got the glow on at the Red Carter show Sunday at the Bass Museum with Shimmering Face Pearls ($14). Inside these little vials are a super multitaskers that can be used wet or dry as eye shadow, liner, highlighter, blush, bronzer or body dust. It comes in eight colors, but artists mostly used the bronzy Sun Kissed and Vanilla Sky to get the Red Carter girls’ shine on.
The Painted Lady Kit ($32) offers three lip colors and three glosses, from nude to not, in one slim compact. Artists mixed Face Pearls with the sheer Cream Soda gloss to create perfect pouts. Our testers at home said the glosses tasted great, but loved Peachie Sheen most.
TINte Cosmetics are available at several South Florida retail locations and at TINteCosmeticscom.
