Coupon Chaos: Share your best savings tips here

coupons1.JPGWelcome to Coupon Chaos, where our readers share their best ideas for saving on shopping!

I had a cocktail party conversation with my friend Bill the other night. He was impressed when a woman in front of him at the downtown Ft Lauderdale Publix bought an overflowing cart full of groceries for $15.34.

Now, a response could turn into a very long blog post. First of all, where is that woman, and why isn't she sharing on Coupon Chaos?

Since I don't want to hog all the Shop-O-Matic real estate, after years of writing this blog and scouring the planet for coupons and deals for our readers, I can tell you that saving like that requires prep time and organizational skills. And a lot of coupons!

One trick is to find the coupons. Where do you get your $5 off $50 coupons? Where do you find your store coupons that stack with manufacturers coupons? Do you surf the Internet for printable coupons, join manufacturers' facebook groups, and email your favorite brands?

Share with us your tips on fattening that coupon stash. Happy shopping. --Super Saver Kathy

Printable coupon: $15 off $75 at Office Depot

There are a few office supply coupons floating around right now. Click here for a $15 off $75 at Office Depot, good through 11/15. I like to use these to stock up on printer doesn't take much to get to $75.

Staples sent me one this week as well, but it was a PDF, and I'm too technologically impaired to share a PDF on a website. But I'll bet if you google Staples $15 coupon, you'd find it.

Christmas here at Big Lots

This may be the year I finally buy an artificial Christmas tree.

One factor is they're on sale at Big Lots! for as little as $25 for a 6-foot pre-lit artificial tree. The 7-foot pre-lit trees run $49.

To get in the holiday mood, I picked up a package of Christmas wrap with matching bows and ribbon -- only $7. There are also wreaths, Christmas lights of all kinds, decorative pillows and tableware.

The best selection no doubt is right now so don't wait until Christmas Eve to go to a Big Lots! near you.

H&M giveaways at Friday's opening in Palm Beach Gardens

hm_logo_print.gifH&M, the Swedish retail store popular in other parts of the country, opens noon Friday, Nov. 5, at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. (From I-95, exit PGA Boulevard and go east. The Gardens Mall will be on your left.)

There will be free giveaways and special offers for the first 250 shoppers in line, according to H&M's Facebook page.

*The first 250 customers in line before the Grand Opening will receive free giveaways and an Access to Fashion Pass randomly valued from $10 - $300. One lucky winner will receive the Pre-Opening Pass that will allow him/her early entry to the store before the doors open to the public."

Sounds good to me. H&M, which has reasonably-priced yet trendy clothes and accessories for teens, women and men, is a fun store to visit anytime. It's one of my favorite destinations when I visit New York. HM%20style.jpg

Find a holiday shoe and then find a deal

Stuart%20Weitzman%20glitter%20pumps.jpgThe holidays call for glitter.

This "Swoon" Glitter pump from Stuart Weitzman is new the holidays and gorgeous. If you can afford, $335 for the designer shoe at Bloomingdale's, go for it.

But if you're on a budget like me, pick a shoe you like for the holidays and then shop around at more affordable venues.

This sparkly pump by N.Y.L.A. Karlie is on clearance for $39.94 at DSW, for example. DWS%20sparkly%20pump.jpg

Remember that a little glitter goes a long way so if you choose a sparkly pump, you should wear a black dress with accent jewelry. A sequin dress with glitter pumps should be reserved for Lady Gaga.

Coupon Chaos: Tell us where you are saving this week

coupons1.JPGWelcome to Coupon Chaos, where our readers post their best ideas for saving on our weekly shopping!

We are slipping, Halloween came and went, and we never discussed candy sales. But now is the time to get your kiddies costumes for next year. They are on sale everywhere. See any good ones?

I must confess, I am guilty of a 'no-no' for serious coupon shoppers. And it's going to cost me! Last night, alas, I used the last of my dishwasher detergent. A serious coupon shopper would have stocked up, during a good sale, long before running out. Unless I wash by hand until the next sale//coupon match up, chances are I'll pay retail. Or retail minus one measly coupon. Let that be a lesson to ya...
