Score deals through Facebook Places application

Facebook wants to help you hunt bargains just in time for the holiday shopping season.
The popular social networking service is rolling out deals through its Places application, the service announced today on its blog. The new concept is a way for local businesses to offer you specials when you check-in using the Facebook geotagging application, which was introduced in August.
The first deal up is Gap, offering 10,000 pairs of free jeans or a 40 percent discount on Friday when you check in at U.S. stores.
Other offers planned in the coming weeks:
American Eagle Outfitters: Offering 20 percent off.
Chipotle: Giving its Facebook guests two entrees for the price of one.
H&M: Offering 20 percent off.
JCPenney: Giving $10 off any $50 purchase.
Macy's: Offering 20 percent off select merchandise.
McDonald's: Giving $1 per customer to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Starbucks: Donating $1 per guest to Conservation International.
Places, used on your mobile device allows you to share where you are with friends and also see who's nearby. With deals, you also can see special offers from retailers nearby your check-in spot.
