Watch 5,000 free movies, TV shows with free trial of Amazon Prime


Sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime and watch for free 5,000 unlimited, commercial-free instant streaming of movies (more than 1,600) and TV shows.

Some of the titles you can watch: "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," "Food, Inc.," "March of the Penguins," and "Doctor Who."

The giant Internet retailer announced Tuesday it was adding this new benefit to its $79-per-year membership, which allows you get get free two-day shipping on qualified purchases. (Those with Amazon Mom and Amazon Student memberships are not eligible for the free video service.)

Watch the free entertainment on PCs, Macs, and nearly 200 models of Internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray players and set-top boxes that are compatible with Amazon Instant Video.

Amazon is moving into Netflix's terrirory. If $79 a year seems like a lot for a Prime membership, consider a yearly Netflix account costs $96 and you don't get free shipping.
